Gotta agree on the swearing. I dont believe Dante has ever sworn before and I think he's all the better for it.bafrali said:A halfdemon-half angel walks into a bar....
OT:I find it weird to see the Dino going into a bar in trailer after Developer's words about Dante, bars and getting laughed at.Conspiracy theory time.BTW who writes the script for these things and where can i find him to show the efficient use of swear words which includes none at all
I envy your optimism brother.I lost hope when i saw a grafiti "their truth is a lie" on the walls in one of the trailers. What i don't get is that aren't Ninja theory supposed to be a story-heavy developer?(from what i have heard).Doesn't that require having a writer that can write properly?SkarKrow said:potentially descending into a generic conspiracy theory.
Ninja theory is indeed storey heavy. Shit at gaemplay though. I have played neither of their previous games, but the demos were enough to relly put me off. I hop[e DmC works out well, but I suspect lacklustre dumbed down gameplay from ninja theory, and a 4 hour long game with the next 8 hours of the game on disc as dlc.bafrali said:I envy your optimism brother.I lost hope when i saw a grafiti "their truth is a lie" on the walls in one of the trailers. What i don't get is that aren't Ninja theory supposed to be a story-heavy developer?(from what i have heard).Doesn't that require having a writer that can write properly?SkarKrow said:potentially descending into a generic conspiracy theory.
Wow really? For me it is the opposite: with each trailer I am less and less interested in this game and after seeing this trailer I decided that I am definitely not going to buy or play this. They broke Dante's character too much, not just in aesthetics but in personality as well. He went from laid back to a complete douche. The way he talks... why do I have the image of Justin Bieber trying to act tough in my mind hen I see the segments in this latest trailer where Dante talks? Ah, because he sounds like a cocky little brat, that's why.ramboondiea said:cant wait for this, every trailer i see gets me more and more psyched for it.
still like the art direction, there is something about it i cant put my finger on, but not sure what it is
Funny thing: I somehow hope that the story will progress nicely with a lot of character development that will turn him from a douche-y idiot into a halfway decent hero by means of beating the stupid out of him.ScareJester said:I expect the combat to be good, but the new Dante seems more... douchey. In an annoying way. Less laid back "Chill, I've got this" and more the overcompensating "You think you can take me? Do ya? Well? DO YA, HUH?!". Still want to see how it turns out, though.
I found your problem.Daystar Clarion said:'But you can call me Dante the douchcanoe'
Dante is /-supposed-/ to be cocky, not some aggressive prick.
really not sure where people have gotten this image of dante? I have played an ungodly amount of devil may cry (all three), but all dante is is an over the top cocky demon hunter with a campy faction sense and a flair for the theatrics, and from what i have seen this game nails that. the combat over the top, dante cocky not for the sake of it but because he really is that good.Vyress said:Wow really? And the swearing and the smoking? What for? To make him look cool or something? Dante was always among the biggest badasses in gaming without doing any of those and he did so effortlessly. This Dante... it is like he is trying too hard to impress, to hard to look cool. The villain didn't look bad but what's the point if I simply hate the character I would be playing as?
I am a huge fan of the Devil May Cry series. I loved 1, 3 and even 4 (admittedly I haven't played the 2nd one myself ^^). And I am not someone who is against change in a gaming series. But the change has to be for the better. Improve stuff or introduce new things to it. But change for changes sake just go get some shocker sales when something wasn't broken in the first place (here: the protagonist) that's where things start to get iffy for me. I never thought that anything could tear me away from this series but they did it. Everything in this game seems so.... punky to me. That dude from "The Order", Dante, the music... Sorry this just isn't for me.
If anyone can enjoy that: more power to you. I can't.
So yeah: no more Devil May Cry for me as long as it is like this. There are other games out there.
Because that's what I want. I want a re-imagining with nails shoved in my eyes and my ears. Sounds like so much fun.Ferisar said:I found your problem.Daystar Clarion said:'But you can call me Dante the douchcanoe'
Dante is /-supposed-/ to be cocky, not some aggressive prick. It's a Dante imagined as a late punk teen, welcome to how they act.
