Is it just me or is every sword in the Final Fantasy universe unnecessarily huge.

Oh, Jesus. It's like they somehow misunderstood everyone's complaints of "corny and uninspired dialogue" to actually mean "amazing writing" and decided to pursue it even further. I didn't think it was possible to be even more disinterested in this game, but I think that's actually what this trailer did.

The spoilers in this trailer don't bother me though, I can't see myself buying this after the atrocity I found in FF13

I've never played an FF game but the time-travel plot sounded interesting for this so I was thinking maybe... But is it the norm for FF trailers to give away what looks like quite a few fairly big spoilers?
As cheesey as most of the dialogue was, any storyline that involves characters realising to their horror that they're creating paradoxes tends to get me pretty interested.

Ditto. Any lingering interest I've had of even -following- this game has shriveled up and died. It's like they took my main complaints from FF13 and made them WORSE. I'll be honest, I didn't think it was possible.

Had to check out the "difference" between the PS3 trailer and this one.
I like the PS3 trailer one better...not that it's a different game or whatever, but this trailer makes it seem bland.

Dear god, that is some of the most terrible voice acting and cinematic music I have ever seen! I feel ashamed that my favorite character (Lightning) is even a part of that cinematic trailer..

..I'm about 60% convinced I will never willingly spend money to purchase this game, so far.

Combat was fine. IF YOU WANT TO MAKE MOVIES SQUARE ENIX THEN JUST DO IT!!! but you know what i blame? Not a company, developer, person, but a game. Final Fantasy 7. If that game didn't go away from formula of what made Final Fantasy 1-6 so great it wouldn't have reached THIS LEVEL OF SHITTINESS.

i stopped caring about any jrpgs when i stopped being able to tell the difference between the vees from the pees. why do all the guys have to look like 12 year old girls, and why are all the girls annoyingly defenceless even though they're supposed to be strong?

also, this. 7 was the defining moment of 'screw this' for me, i think. i've played it over and over trying to make myself like it (since i sort of liked 8, 10, and 12) and i know it's supposed to be the most amazing rpg game ever and i'm blaspheming when i say i hate it. but for me it's a nonsensically pieced together game that had more to offer in random character-specific side plots that did nothing for the already flimsy story. square seems so desperate to grab onto whatever tendrils of 7 they can get their hands on that they're incapable of doing nothing but crap.

for me, 13 was bad and i have no doubt its sequel will be just as horrible. if anything could have been learned from how poorly the last one was received, i get the feeling all they focused on were the graphics.

Now i'm one of those rare people who loved XIII but this, this looks just bloody ridiculous; the awful voice acting (honestly just those voices make me want to punch the characters) and plot look bad enough. How is this any kind of sequel?

And why the fuck did lightning lose all her old style and gunblade in favor of plate armor and a sword?

This just looks beyond horrible...

I think it's cool that they've cast Nightmare's girlier brother in this game.


I couldn't watch past the 25 second mark, the dialog actually made me want to tear out my ears and stuff them in the resulting holes...

This trailer didn't annoy me as much as the PS3 version. Thank goodness. I was skeptical of Square's stated intention to make this game a bit like Chrono Trigger, but it looks like there are some options and features that might make that work.

I could still do without the sappy music.
