Well, guess I'll be watching for more news on this game, won't buy it till I see reviews though, I haven't had such great luck with pre-orders lately.
That's because you rely on reviews. Rely on your own head.

But what is really good , reviewers cannot bias or lie about

Just an example:

Metroid Prime: IGN: 9.7 --> Genuine
COD4: Modern Warfare: IGN 9.4 --> Genuine
COD: Modern Warfare 2: IGN: 9.5 --> Huge Bias

MW2 should be 5.5 imo

I rely on my own current and past experience:

Rage is the game worth your every penny. Im buying for PC - finish the singleplayer and then straight to modding tools.

I've seen and heard enough, i don't need reviews anymore, i don't even want to see any more trailers, since these are just huge spoilers from now on.

This is the intervew that is ALL you need to know about RAGE: http://www.gamespot.com/events/quakecon2011/video.html?sid=6327363 ignore the "(X360)" note - gamespot is stupid, the review has nothing to do with consoles - just questions might be mixed - PC and console.
I have been doing that, but this won't be the first game to have an interesting trailer and what not, only to turn out being bad (in my opinion).

You do have a valid point though about reviews, perhaps that was a bad wording on my behalf. By reviews I mean more along the lines of "Is this game only a few hours long, or really buggy?"

Glad to hear there's going to be mods though.

That was more of my diehard subjective opinion - but the one that is praised by the core community at large.

One of the most shameful things that mainly people have not researched the game and the state of affairs well enough , they just watched a video or two and they come up with these comments that disrespect Rage to some freaking borderlands.

But i have nothing against trailers , i know most of the customers are very media-reliant consumers, some of them out of desperation to be very cautious so they don't get screwed after they buy, which is totally okay, but i never see trailers and or reviews as something "must see before i get the game". Sometimes i skip parts of trailers, or cover my eyes when i sense something revealing is going to be shown.

Modding Tools have been confirmed since MAY 2011.

?Pull down the [dev] console, type ?id studio?, then press enter; Then, bam, there?s all the tools we use."
? Tim Willits, Rage, ID Software, May 5 2011

So essentially , he confirmed in-game dev console in the same sentence. pure and epic win.

That looks a lot like Fallout, gameplay looks decent enough thought.

Still not sure what to make of it though. Hopefully it's more than 4 or 5 hours long. Hopefully it's got a decent and varied single player story. Hopefully the vehicle sections don't suck.
What?

Did any of you actually LOOK AT THAT TRAILER?

That's the most awesome shit I've seen in a while right there.

Rage, Skyrim, DeusEx3... how will I ever keep up!?
What? Did you actually LOOK AT THAT TRAILER?
Its so standard its a joke. Every enemy is human, and they all seem to act the same bar the very last thing you see charging towards you... all of which makes me wonder why anyone needs to go beyond point and shoot assault rifle boredom, and utilize that silly little robots which are also point and shoot assault rifle boredom, but they get you flanked and killed while you control it. It seems most of these little gadgets that attempt to go beyond the norm are disadvantageous bar that crappy, infinitely reusable, 1-hit kill, multi-target boomerang. yeah.

Cheesy gore... lame, brooding characters... lacking story... rather repetitive looking aswell... i dont see how anyone can find any of this interesting.
and given that its being released in october to avoid the big releases in november, i think they know that.

This game is nothing that hasnt been done in several games before... and while that doesnt stop it being good, i dont see how anyone can be excited...

And there's some people that blame bethesda ... while clearly seeing "and id software production" in the trailer ... ;)

This game isn't going to use a Gamebryo engine is it? i'm not sure that I would even want the game for free, if it uses that engine.

edit

Nevermind, just found out that it will use the id Tech 5 engine. Which I hardly know anything about, or rather.. I don't know of anything bad about it.

Last two id games were shit sandwich? The last game id developed was Doom 3 back in 2004 (yeah okay that one may count as shit), but Quake 3 wasn't so bad. Quake IV, Wolfenstein etc. weren't developed by id software.
Really?

...I could have sworn Quake IV was ID's. Huh.

Well, I still thought Doom 3 was eh.

That looks a lot like Fallout. Gameplay looks decent, but Bethesda is going to get quick a bit of flak.
Black Watch said:
Flak for what? Bethesda has nothing to do with the game, this is all ID right here.
You two do know that the game is published by Bethesda ?
How would they know? It only says it in the video. >_>

Quake IV and Wolfenstein were Raven. Enemy Territory: Quake Wars was Splash Damage. Doom III was Id's last game. They started working on Rage about the same time Bethesda started working on Fallout 3. Id has put a lot into the game. Everyone who has had their hands on it wants more. Look arounf for some of the E3 info. If you read up and watch the footage I think you'll be planning on buying this one. I am.

Wellllll, you can't get much more generic and brown setting wise. Very much Gears of War meets Fallout as far as I can see. What makes it special/worth getting when I'll be full of BF3 and Deus Ex? I just don't see what makes it particularly interesting, especially after the phenomenal marketing of Deus Ex and the impressive gameplay trailers of BF3. They need to step up their game if they want to attract the attention of perhaps the more discerning gamer, but I'd expect them to be able to shift it well enough if they buy some decent reviews. Not looking like series material atm though.
There is the way the ennemies moves like it was show on e3... very impressive they really use the environement against you...

Yeah, I vaguely recalled something like that, and being impressed at the AI's occasional retreats and maneuvers - and then being disappointed as they stuck out of the cover they took and didn't react as they were filled with bullets as they were 'hiding'. However, on the weight of this trailer, as someone who's not been picking through all the background, it got a resounding 'meh'. Especially compared to the continuous 'wow's BF and Deus Ex have been giving me.

Doom4 Wikipedia:
At the QuakeCon 2011, John Carmack said that "there is really no any news" on Doom 4 and that he wanted to devote this year solely to RAGE. He also mentined that Doom 4 will be using a new scripting language that is based off C++ and called it "super-script". This so called "super-script" is a subset of C++ with features like "scheduling", "full performance" and "type safe". Carmack added that once RAGE ships, it's development team will move to Doom 4 - to speed up on that project.Doom 4 might also feature dedicated servers unlike RAGE.
