Untrue, if you've ever played Star Wars Galaxies, the true Star Wars MMO,
And see, this was where I realized you had no idea what you were talking about.

Oh--and unless something's changed drastically over in SOE-land (not that that would surprise me overmuch), there is no "Sith" class in SWG. Just Jedi with red lightsabers being played by people who feel they now have an excuse to behave badly in-game.

Exactly...EA...

Now, as for if the game will die a horrific death, I doubt it. The problem is that you seem to insist I think the game will die in some cataclysmic patch note simply because I said NGE, which is NOT what I said.

When I look at the classes, the combat, the basic roles being played out (tank, healer, DPS) I see nothing new. I also know that there are going to be 10-20 times the Jedi on the servers, just like what happened on the NGE. Is this a bad thing? Time will tell. All I'm saying is that I don't see the hype, it's just a sci-fi RPG at the moment. I also see on-rails space combat, really? I saw that in LEGO Star Wars. I see the gameplay as nothing new, and you can't tell me the game is going to run off RPers.
I think we've had some sort of massive misunderstanding here. IIRC, you compared TOR to WoW, calling them effectively (or shortly-after-launch-effectively) the same game; you also said that a cataclysm (pun partially intended) equivalent to the NGE would inevitably befall TOR. You also said TOR was copying SWG. If I misunderstood any of these points, then mea culpa. In any event, I don't see where I can add anymore to the conversation, so I'm moving on.

...okay, I lied--one last point. Your last sentence--run off RP'ers? Talk about a huge misunderstanding. TOR is, I believe, going to be huge for RP'ers. WoW, on the other hand, seems to almost actively discourage them. In any event--go play WoW, go play SWG, have yourself a grand ol' time...I'll be bopping back & forth amongst my Smuggler, Jedi & Sith characters on TOR.
