I am more and more underwhelmed with what I see for every passing video. I am preparing for the 60 Metacritic score and tucking away my wallet in a safe place.

Nope, not gonna be any Termies at all, that would be impossible to balance.

Terminators?! They are game-breakers. The only way to make them work is for them to have slow but powerful attacks and not be able to run to justify their ridiculous armour. Yeah, I can so see players enjoying that... [/sarcasm]
if I remember correctly from the lore terminators were never put into full use because they lacked the mobility regular space marines had.
And in terms of powerful slow players being balanced it works for the heavy in TF2, so I see no real reason they cannot be implemented well.

I cannot wait to hurtle through the sky as a Assault Marine and crash right into a Raptor coming the same way!

This one looks like it will be a keeper.
I'm still renting it first though. Everything 40K has been pretty disappointing over the past couple of years. Ever since 5th edition; or whenever they decided to ditch the Lost & Damned.
Even the Dawn of War games? Ah well, different people=different taste I guess.
I loved Dawn of War 1 (especially Dark Crusade: one of the best PC games of the last decade IMO) and Dawn of War 2 was really cool too but the expansions for 2 were really weak. They felt more like overpriced DLC packs than the robust expansions we got with DoW1. I didn't even bother with the last couple.
Derp. Completely forgot to say anything. Hang on.

Ok there.

DOW1: Four core factions. Orcs, Eldar, Space Marines, and Chaos.
1st expansion adds the Imperial Guard.
Second adds Tau and Necron.
Third Expansion added Sisters of Battle and the Dark Eldar.

DOW2: Four Core Factions. Orcs, Eldar, Space Marines, Tyranids.
First expansion added Chaos.
Second expansion adds Imperial Guard.

There's exactly one less faction in the game, expansion per expansion, and considering how broken some of the new races in DOW1 were, I'll take it.

As for something relevant, I really do hope Space Marine does well. Relic could use some good news for once.

That's what I thought at first, give a Terminator an assault cannon and he's basically Heavy, but the normal Marines move so much faster (without the teleporting feature), are so much easier to take down (on tabletop), and since it's primarily close combat based (I don't think Devastators/Havocs are going to be played that much unless they plas out) it's going to require tripling up to take one Terminator down. If an entire team takes Terminator armour (they'd really need a team member cap or people will rage) and just trudges around facing off against a team of... well anyone else, they will destroy them. Assault Terminators generally have the same dexterity in combat as Assault Marines and only the movement speed is different, but with one guy having just a bolt pistol and the other having twin lightning claws... *doi* etc. etc. Balancing it so that everyone is the equivalent 16-18pts (wrt tabletop weighting) in terms of armour, armament, movement, dexterity etc. will make either the normal marine overpowered or the Terminator underpowered. Either way = rage.

It's easier to work the SM Scout into it (a perk system, with sniper rifle or camocloak or something like that, with lower armour, faster movement etc.). However, in this way it's still hard due to the lack of a viable Chaos equivalent.

The way the pre-order bonuses are set up is making me rage.

This game looks amazing but the one thing i would love to see them add is all the races so you can play as anything. Or game modes where each team votes on a race and plays as one race v.s one race so it looks like a real war. I hope people know what i mean by that and don't think i mean watching space marines kill each other doesn't look like a real war.

No Scout Marines?
scouts would get ripped up by normal marines dude...unless they are the snipers
Well, that was the idea. A quick, light weight, long range fighter. Perhaps with minor sneaking capabilities to get around and flank all the burly marines. Don't under-estimate the recruits of the chapter. A good scout/scout squad can be far more dangerous than any other enemy.

This game looks pretty good so far!

I'm also glad that we now finally have a game that gets space marines right. That 3+ saving throw isn't for nothing, you know.

Heh, I pre-ordered mine from GAME here in the UK and got all four sets of armour (Space Wolves, Black Templar, Emperors Children and the other chaos ones...) also have played through Kill Team on XBLA so have the power sword unloacked...

All I'm missing are the blinged out weapons and I'll live without them, for once it's great to be a gamer in the UK!
