Poor, poor Waspenator.... always getting the shit kicked out of him.
Too true, but you gotta admire him for his energy. No matter how many times you beat him into the dust, next episode he runs right back into the fight

Ah, BW. Big Transformers fan here. Most of the first season bore me to tears, but when the second kicked in, the show dropped the BS, found its footing and started kicking some serious ass, partly because the Transmetals looked better than the original... furry... alt-modes.

Great show overall.

Iremember that and Reboot. that stuff was technological edge, back in the days :D
the best of reboot was the mortal kombat episode enzo/scorpion vs satan!!!!
yeah, that was awesome, but I still think that the guitar duel might have inspired Guitar Hero :p

I had a beast transformer action figure, it was a rat and the tail turned into the gun or something.

I never watched the programme though

I had to borrow the original series off of one of my friends and shotgunned the whole thing
best waste of time ever!

plus Rhinox was the best! if he wanted to beat the crap out of everyone he just need to get out some duel machine guns and everyone else was scrap

It was such a great series, favourite episode was "optimal situation" and how they tied it to the original transformers series....its a shame how they ended it with beast machines.

After re-watching, I still find Megatron to be my favorite out of the characters. He made plotting look so easy, and let's not forget his way of saying "Yeeesss".

Though Ravage had a nice appearance as well.

As for poor Waspinator...well, at least he didn't die, right?
When did Ravage appear?
WASPINATOR NEVER DIES! he becomes the leader of the humans in the end when everyone else leaves

and Ravage appeared in the third season I believe

Yep, BW was definetly one of the best Transformers generations for me to be raised on (whereas my cousin grew up with the first animated one and knows it as well as I know Beast Wars). Besides excellent characterizations, visuals and action, in hindsight I can appreciate the respect with which it treated the whole original mythos, squeezing in cameos from many honored veterans of 'The Great War' of Generation 1 such as Starscream and Ravage.

Even more amazing however was that like so many things it was actually cut short by budgeting- there was supposed to be a fourth season! What it would have been about I couldn't begin to guess but I always did feel they unfairly glossed over a large part of Season 3's high-stakes wars given how much of it was 'character upgrade episodes' ('hmm, so Cheetor's more powerful, Blackarachnia's more powerful, Megatron's more powerful... too bad they get like two fight scenes each). Not that those weren't good (go watch 'Master Blaster', it's great), but they could've been better. Case in point, a crucially important plot scene was cut from the tail end of the finale (Nemesis Part 2) due to time/budget constraints.

Beast Machines I wasn't so thrilled about, mostly due to its limited cast and the overriding message of 'machine bad, organic good'. On the other hand while 'The Weak Component' episode was generally panned even more than the rest of Season 1 I considered it to be the best character development that Rattrap ever got. And like Silverbolt, he too, finds true love later on.

It trumps Reboot in my approximation, and that says something.

Ha that show was made by Mainframe productions! (If you don't know there canadian)
If anything that just makes its quality more amazing. I mean seriously, how many Canadian companies make a good show like that?

Are you sure it was produced by them, or was it published?
Well all I know is that Mainframe was set up in Toronto and they also made Reboot, as well as a sequel show to Beast Wars. (I think it was called like Beasties or somthing like that)

Holy crap I didn't know it was this widespread. I only saw a few episodes that I remember but I loved them. My favourites were Rattrap, Silverbolt and Tarantualas. I have got to see if I can check out any more episodes anywhere.

Beast Wars and Reboot pwn any cartoon from the 21st century.

On a side note my favorite was Rhinox.
