Why is transgender porn so popular? How can a guy who looks like a girl considered by some folks on the internet hot and wanna have sex with that person? Does having sex with a pre-transgender male considered gay??
I think this really has to do with anonymity, and not so much of "why is it so popular?". On the internet, you're whoever you want to be. Sure, Google or any other site can get info on you from your searches, but even so how far they're willing to go or able to go with that information is limited, so there's still a level of anonymity.

It's most likely popular because some people really are just attracted to "shemales" or "trannies" or whatever term you'd like to use. Just in public, not many will be outspoken about it.

It's kind of like the issue with homosexuality in America. Some studies have been done that make it appear as if only 2% of the United States is homosexual, but in actuality, that number is most likely far higher. Why though? Because many that are gay aren't willing to admit it, or they're in an area where they fear there will be some backlash for their sexuality.
The actual number is roughly 20%.

Fun.

I actually have a question, in my own thread, no less.

I'm honestly not that far into my transition. I have my first appointment with an endocrinologist in April, I am hoping to be able to get my perscription for hormones at that time, but I am worried about additional delays.

Would it be reasonable for me to expect to walk out of the office on that day with a perscription?
Oh, my mistake. I was remembering it off the top of my head. I guess I forgot the zero, or the "study" I read did. =P

But my point still stands about the whole number being higher because there's most likely plenty of closeted homosexuals.

Edit: I also found this thread that may be useful to you. I'm not a transsexual/transgender so I have no experience on the issue, but this thread may: http://www.lauras-playground.com/mtf_hormones.htm

Hope it helps!

You see, normally this would be thread I'd be all over, but after living with a MtF transsexual since September, I kinda know a lot...too much in some cases...

Pssshhht. You're ex-British Army. I'd be surprised if you could honestly say that there was never a time you wanked into a mate's beret while on duty.
Twice truth be told..... Once to a friend after he took a shit in one of my boots and once to a fresh meat because I was drunk and it seemed like a good idea.

Also pissed in a couple of cupboards after a night out.

And never trust a mate that says he's run you a bath on your birthday .... I didn't notice until I heard the giggling that I was sat in 8 parts water 2 parts piss.

Ahhh the joy of grown men doing juvenile pranks .... I actually miss that.

10) Have you ever watched the anime Wandering Son? What did you think about it?
No, I have not. But I'm really interested and I love Anime. What's it about?
Well, Wikipedia can probably explain it better than me: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wandering_Son

I've watched the first two episodes and liked them, so I'll probably watch the rest when I've got some more free time (there are only twelve episodes anyway).

Hiya!.
I got a thing that bugs me, and I´d like to figure it out :)

Now I´m in my own process. I dont know where it all might lead, so im taking it all in stride.
But what i´ve seen many Trans feel these feelings and "go all out on a rush". I see that as a problem.

I´ve seen that People are Different, mostly becuase their different people, Rather than what Gender they are.

Alot of times when i´ve read or heard a self-identefied transperson sspeak of Their Moment I have felt that their conclusion to Transition is kind of premature.

The most clear one I´ve got is:

"I dont like sports, I talk over the sports news on the sports channel and make my brothers made. Its just like my mother. Becuase Females have more grey matter and Make more connections We have to talk more, all the time. Thts why you hear us women talk alot all of the time"

To me that sounds Gender Ignorant, beccuase:
Many of my male friends Dont like sports, Talk incesantly, and talk oer the sports news.

In short: i see alot of people going of on a Tour around the world, without Thinking it thorugh and it scares me.
Sometimes I get scared that It All will just pass like a cloud and I will be standing there, having already chosen.
It scares me becuase I don´t know Where i can get Collected and Centered feedback, and went.

I´d like to know if you´ve seen seen this, and how you´ve responded.

"Wandering Son", aka "Hourou Musako" was first a manga series, and probably the best and truest manga ever done on the transgendered. Certainly it's the best I've found, and I've looked through a lot in search of stuff suitable for for pre-teen transgendered kids. These stories are so well done that they are useful in the counseling of both kids and parents. While both manga and anime are suitable for children, don't assume that adults won't love them too, they are just excellent.

Since the anime series is subtitled, not dubbed, it's a bit tough for non-japanese kids to follow, but the translated books let the very young backup and re-read, study the pictures to better understand the characters and plot lines, and more easily ask questions about cultural references.

Please do buy the books if you can possibly afford them, http://www.amazon.com/Wandering-Son-Book-Shimura-Takako/dp/1606994166/ not just to support a wonderful author, but the book translations are much better than the quasi-pirated web scanlations. I think I watched the Anime on Crunchyroll, but it's probably on netflix, hula, and youtube as well.

Shimura Takako, the author, has done some other really interesting work, including some of the gentlest and most interesting illustrated pronography I've read. I'll not put links, but much of her work can be found by searching the many scanlation sites on the web.

so this thread has inspired me to write a story about a transexual. So, how do I say this without coming off as a deursche. I'll just ask: Have you dated someone, and when they learned about your... condition... they broke up with you? And if so what were their reaction.

MarsAtlas summed it up just so, but let me reiterate. The story you should write is the one about your own shock, disgust and shame when you discover that the very existence of the person you're falling in love with contradicts your deepest instincts. What is wired right into the identity and survival instincts of every sexual species. wired right next to fight or flight is reproductive candidacy: Is this creature I see/smell/hear/taste one of my own species? Food? Source of progeny? Fucker or fuckee? Will you be one of the rare enlightened humans whose wisdom and capacities rise above their instinctual fears and drives?

...Or whatever, the whole "nature red in tooth and claw" may not be your style, but look inside your own heart to find your own stories.

Well first of all, before you write this story, let me ask, have you ever stood in the perspective of a transgender person? Do you think you're ever close to comprehending self-loathing to the extent that the worst thing to happen to you literally was being born? If not, I don't recommend you write it, or at least, not from the perspective of a transgender person. Write it from the perspective of something you know, otherwise its disrespectful to the subject matter, no matter what the subject matter is, and probably spreads misconception and misinformation.

That being said, I don't date, and I can't tell you about my personal reaction, but I think anybody with the ability to empathize knows answer already. Outing yourself, or worse, being outed, is something that is feared, especially for transwomen (thats male-to-female transition) because of the rate of violence. For many people, finding out that they've had sexual relations with a transgender person is as bad, if not worse, than having had sex with an HIV positive person. There are actually people like that, really. Men in particular are more prone to react violently, so relationships often turn into this vicious scenario when however it plays out, you're going to lose. You either lose out on a meaningful relationship you desire with a person, or you get heartbroken when it ends, not to mention the threat to your social status by your outing, and your physical well-being. The person who said "it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all" never was in a position like this, I can tell you that much.
Agreed. The world is a cold and brutal place to us, and someone really needs to put themselves in our shoes if they ever want to write a good transgendered character. It's not easy to find a well-written character from a transgendered background for this reason, and when we do pop up it's often dehumanizing and objectifying, except instead of being viewed as a sex object we're viewed as demons from the depths of hell. You want to see how NOT to write a good transgendered character? Watch The Hangover 2. The transwoman in there is pretty much dehumanized to the point of caricature, being a prostitute whose only purposes are to have sex with one of the wolf pack and then be the focal point of all of the revulsion and disgust afterwards, setting a shitty and unnecessary childish tone. Do everything that they don't: make the character human, give them strengths and flaws, and for the love of whatever you pray to(if anything) do NOT demonize them. Yeah, it's alright to have characters who do demonize them, but make sure those characters are NOT the tone-setters.

Yeah but Shakespeare probably couldn't fit "'Tis better to have never loved than to have your face carved up, get repeatedly stabbed in the tits, have your pelvis crushed with sledgehammers and left to die in a ditch" into one of his plays.

Psssh, he's Shakespeare, I'm sure if you gave him some time he'd figure something out.
He wouldn't have to deviate too far from his formula, someone always gets stabbed and left in a ditch in his plays anyway.

Well, it's been nearly 400 years since he died... If he hasn't done it by now I don't think he's going to bother.
