Though he seemed calm on the outside, the signs of struggle he had seen in the lobby, and now here in the restaurant, were having an effect on Jordan. The last thing he had expected to find were signs of a struggle, but when ,out of curiousity, he had swung by the desk, hoping to find a pen and some paper so he could take some notes on the strange fleshy covering on the door, he had froze in shock as he saw the bloody handprint.

Being an outdoorsman, Jordan had learned along time ago that visibly freaking out is not the best use of your time. Crying like a little baby is a good way to attract the attention of a pissed off grizzly, so any fear he had was channeled into what ever he was doing, helping him keep calm, though he did have a slight tremor running through him.

Looking around at the other people in the restaurant, he decided it was time to do something. Hearing the faint sound of voices coming from the kitchen, he heads that way, hoping he can find something to calm his nerves, and work with the rest of the people to get out of this place.

Matt stepped into the kitchen and looked around at the other patrons. They were scavenging for food like animals. It was starting to hit him that something might be wrong here. Would he be able to get out in time for the movie? At all? Maybe the producers would call for help once they saw the hotel's condition.

He walked over to the refrigerator, looking for anything that he could eat right now. He was starving, and that didn't bode well in situations like this.

Speeding by Paxton as he exited the freezer, Kaze didn't even hear him for the single-minded determination he was possessed by.
Upon asking something again, interrupting his train of thought and action, Kaze loosened the knife and turned around to face him.
"What? No. Why?"
It was on full heat. So, someone had left this place in a hurry? Shaking his head, Kaze didn't care. All he knew was he wanted out of here. He tried just as hard to escape from his own thoughts. Grabbing his head with both of his hands and turning around, he had to press on and made for the door.

The elevator dinged, the doors slid open, Wilson rolled out. He sniffed, his nose meeting with an unpleasant odour. Meat? What the... His chair rolled forward, the wheels filling the lobby with the high pitched squealing of their complaints. He winced. Then he spotted the doors.

The film across the glass, what looked like veins, the strange smell... What the hell?.

He wheeled his way over to the doors, pressing against them. They resisted, not giving even a centimetre. He pushed again, this time with more force. He rolled back slightly from the force of the push, but the doors didn't give. He wasn't stupid enough to think he had any chance. He was 71. He'd let the younger people sort it out. He rolled over, into the restaurant, with the intention of finding someone to explain what was happening, or at the very least get the doors open.

I overloaded myself a bit - that's no excuse, though. So, here you go with the what you need to know.

--The film on the door is on the inside and the outside. It has a very thin coat of mucus on it, so if you touched the glass rather than the handle when you tried to open the door, you got it on your hands. If you got it on your hands earlier, they are now starting to itch. Uh oh.

--The stove is a gas stove. If you've never worked with one, they emit flames, so if someone left the burner on, you probably noticed flames rather than heat. The fire could have been quite low, though. Conversely, restaurant gas stoves can be cranked all the way up to near blow-torch heat.

--The refrigerator and freezer are both walk-ins. That means that they are basically big, cold closets with thick walls and a thich door which can be opened from the inside and locked from the outside by putting a pin through a hole in the handle. The pin is attached by a chain so it doesn't get lost.

--The back door. Higu, I assume you are going out the back door of the kitchen, right? So here's what you see when you open the door: In front of you is a set of double doors. They are stuck closed and have a very slight film over them. On your right is the door to the stairwell. It is not stuck. On your left is a long hallway.

--Gamebrain, you mentioned that your character saw the signs of struggle in the lobby, but these were behind the reception desk. Fire Daemon checked back there but didn't tell anyone. Did Jordan look back there too? I'm not saying this to call you out, but just as a general note to everyone about making sure the what you know as the author doesn't leak into your character without explanation.

--Calmness. I was teasing you guys, not chewing you out. I don't deny you are calm, but it's good to say why, especially in a game with a sanity element involved.

Here's where I currently have you guys positioned. If I made a mistake, let me know.

THE LOBBY:
Fire Daemon/Alex - behind the desk, saw the signs of struggle and the blood.
flying-emu/Remy - you touched the door, you should start getting itchy hands next round.
Khedive Rex/Gulliver**
Abako/James**

THE RESTAURANT:
Kind Cannibal/Ecky - pacing around smoking, which, given the lack of air circulation, will probably get pretty obnoxious to your fellow characters. That's my guess anyway.
Gamebrain/Jordan - noticed the signs of struggle, a little freaked out but dealing with it.
Bling/Wilson - you touched the door, you should start getting itchy hands next round.

THE KITCHEN:
Spartan/Jim - you still got that booze? Saw the blood in the restaurant.
berethond/Joseph - in the kitchen with a fillet knife. A large fillet knive has a slender blade and is generally 7-9 inches long [http://www.chefscatalog.com/product/10031-wusthof-classic-fillet-knife.aspx].
Clairaudient/Paxton - noticed someone left one of the stove burners on low flame. Right?
revenent/Matt - in the fridge.
Higu/Kaze - heading for the back door.

**No post from Abako and Khedive Rex this round, so we will assume they are still in the lobby and will stay in the lobby, unless they post indicating they moved elsewhere. Their last posts had them waiting for the elevators, so they are in the lobby by the grace of your lovely GM. They are, however, starting to look tasty.

Matt peeks out the door, relieved to see that the repairman wasn't looking. He might have a problem with what he was going to do, which was grabbing several minor food items from the shelves and putting them in his pockets. They might be needed later.

He stepped back out into the main kitchen area and started looking at the canned food items on the shelves. There appeared more red sauce in drops on the floor, just like out in the restaurant. And maybe if he kept telling himself it was just sauce, he could avoid panicking.

Stepping away from the shelves, Matt stepped over to the guy looking at the stove. "It's probably not a good idea to turn that on without a cook here, you know."

Sorry about that Msh, I didn't think about that. I will fix my post above so it makes a bit more sense. Thanks for pointing that out, still new at this, but I am learning. Also, you have Alex/Firedaemon as in the lobby, but he is in the restuarant, as he was talking to Jim/Spartan about the signs of struggle, before Jim went into the kitchen.

Joseph looks at his new knife.
"Just what I was looking for." Murmered he. Right. Now, he had a knife. The next step is to see if he can cut that film off the door.

Casting a glance towards Kaze, he wondered if he should try the back door first.
"No, if the windows and front door are covered, the back door will be too. Better to head back to the front."

Joseph walks back into the restaurant, noticing the mechanic and a man in a wheelchair.

Well, that's the right knife. Good to know I got my terminology right. Also, shortly here I'm going to be cutting the film-stuff on the door, just to let you know. If you couldn't tell.

Jim hears a door shut from inside the kitchen and goes to investigate. Walking around the corner, he sees a foot disappear at the end of the hall and a knife gone. Jim cocks his head to the side, thinking, why would someone take a knife right now? This was all a little odd but not time to be mincing meat or...using it against another person. A look of fright stretches across Jim's sweaty face, was this guy a psycho? Was he leaving so that he could slit their throats while they slept?

Grabbing a knife for self defense, Jim follows where he saw the man go, his steeltoe boots clicking loudly against the tile floor of the kitchen. He slowly opens the back door out of the kitchen and raises his eyebrows. So it was the foreigner who grabbed the knife, eh? Jim closes the door and slowly takes his wrench out of his toolbox, replacing it with his toolbox. Moving slowly, he lifts the wrench above his head, moving toward Kaze and getting ready to swing...
The air around the wrench swishes menacingly and Kaze just has time to turn around before....

Absentmindedly rubbing his mildly itching hands against his trousers, Remy peered closely at the small layer of... flesh and mucus stuck to his medical scissors. "What in the...?" Turning to the others in the lobby, he says "Does anyone have some sort of examination equipment? A microscope? Magnifying glass? Anything?"

Realization hits him as he speaks. Raising his hands to his eye level, he looks closely at them, the faint itching sensation growing in intensity. As he watches, the colour of his hand begins to tint to a reddish hue. "Oh... Oh no." Rushing out of the lobby towards the bathroom, he calls back into the lobby "Do NOT touch the door!"

As he rushes away, a faint clacking is heard as his medical scissors fall from his hands, the viscous substance oozing in a small pile on the floor.

In retrospect, probably not the best idea. OWELL.

Given no more than two seconds to take in what was behind the door, Kaze heard someone moving aggressively behind him. He turned swiftly, and saw a man on his way to swing something at him. With deft movement born of years of practice, Kaze blocked at the man's wrist, but the man lost his balance and fell over him. Expertly turning the man mid-air, he landed on top of him and struggled to hold him down.

From the lobby Alex could hear a man yell out "do not touch the door". Worrying that something has gone amiss he starts to run out of the restaurant. He stops when a sudden feeling of itchiness engulfs the side of his face. He scratches madly at the top of his face, he had never felt something this bad before. The window, it must have been something on that damn window. What the hell was on it? He Begin to feel some strange oil or slime on his face, on the spot that he pressed against the glass. Fuck his curiosity! Why the hell did he touch that glass?

He looked around the restaurant for something, anything, to clean his face. Spying the small bar in the corner of the room he rushes over there. He could see his face in the reflective steel behind the bar. His forehead and tip of his nose was a strange colour of red. The rest of his face was fine. They did not touch the glass. He pulled on the tap, alcohol came rushing out. He put his head under the tap, in a very awkward position he twisted his neck to get the liquid to splash on his face. He kept it like that for a while. The liquid splashed over the floor and down his back but it was a relief to know he could no longer feel the slime. He stood back up and turned off the tap. The sudden movement had upset his back and his face still itched. Whatever had caused the itchiness was gone. That was a relief. Noticing a rag hanging behind the bar he picked that up and dried himself off, the rag's roughness helped him scratch his head. While it was discomfort, he would have to endure.

He went to grab a lemonade from behind the counter. As he wasn't startled by a strange scream we poured the drink normally.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that, despite me shirking my responsibilities on to Mshcher, for various reasons, I am enjoying this very much, now that I can actually view it - thank you multiple BT engineers for finally fixing that.

Quick point, though - whilst you all starting to hit each other, is, well, marvelous, I am not sure if Mshcher wants you describing the effects of your hits and injuries. Unless Mshcher has PMed you, of course.

Keep up the great work, I'd like to thank Mshcher so very much for picking up after my hissy fit, doing such a great job too, and you guys for bearing with me being so picky in regards to the numbers.

The game seems to be working well, so I suppose I could thank me, too, for not screwing up in that department.
