User Name: Spartan Bannana
Character Name: Jim Halcoy
Equipment: A wrench, an empty metal toolbox
Backround: Jim grew up as the son of a hunter, his father relished the wilderness and was always taking Jim camping with him. Jim didn't have the heart to tell his dear old dad how much he hated these excursions into the wild. What Jim really liked to do was tinker with machines, sometimes even build his own with a hammer, wrench and a few pieces of junk that were lying around the house. On Jim's thirteenth birthday, his father was going to take him hunting for the first time, as a sort of rite of passage into manhood, but Jim couldn't lie to his dad, anymore, so he finally yelled to his father that this was not what he liked to do, and stomped up to his room to work on the desk fan he was building. That day, that statement, that moment hurt Jim's father so much that they didn't speak to each other ever again, and when Jim woke up in the morning, his father was gone, he had left Jim and his mother to live in the wilderness. Jim was hurt deeply by these events, and he swore never to hurt another living being, emotionally, mentally, or physically, for as long as he lived, for he knew how bad it felt to be cut that deeply. He went through the rest of his teenage years fairly peacefully, his first job as a car mechanic was fairly easy, but he always longed to work for something bigger. At the age of 27, he thought of how he had always wished he and his dad could go stay in a hotel somewhere instead of camping, so, he thought that even if he couldn't genuinely afford to stay in a hotel, maybe he could work in one. He took on the job of repairman in a nearby hotel, and has worked there for five years.
Reason for being in hotel: Works as repairman for hotel.

God damn it! It seems all RP's start around the 20th! >:3
But I can't miss this. I simply can not. It will not stand, as I would say if I was British.

User Name: Higurashi

Character Name: Kaze Fujibayashi. People say Kaze. Thus, he is nicknamed "Wind".

Equipment: A pack of AA-batteries, Swiss army knife.

Background: Kaze was born of noble blood on his mother's side and had to grow up with the pressure this put on him and his entire family in 90's Japan. Though his family was of the nobility, they had no servants, and were not particularly rich. His mother had fallen in love with a European business man on his business trip to Japan whom she met through the company she worked in, and some called Kaze the bastard child of the proud and great Fujibayashi clan since no one knew who his biological father was. His mother loved him dearly though, and always wanted the best for him. This, in combination with the bullying he had to put up with made him into something of a rebel. He didn't care about school, but had his own gang of friends there. In that group of outcasts, he was the only protector they had against the other gangs of bullies that were abundant in Japanese schools, and thus, he has had to fight for his life many times. Kaze had always been strong, mentally and physically, but a certain indifference wasted away on his talents. Something he did enjoy among the things forced upon him was martial arts and acrobatics, and his tall body was an asset in this. A black belt in tae kwon do, he was never the subject of physical bullying, but his arrogance bought him nothing but more enemies. In essence however, Kaze remained a true blue gamer. The games were his only way of escaping the boredom and grey scale of reality. He knows the reason he is so indifferent now is because he used to lead such a violent past, and sometimes he can really miss it. The adrenaline rushes, the power of dominating lives. Everything else seemed to fade before the fight for one's life.
Several months ago, his mother died for reasons no doctor was able to discern. Some say it was grief over her husband getting killed in a boat accident, combined with her feelings of inadequacy as a mother. Kaze didn't care. No one knew were or who his real father was, but his mother was all he ever had. This incident brought Kaze to flee his homeland in search of himself, travelling the world. But it seems he finds safety nowhere...

Reason for being in location: Traipsing the countryside, Kaze is presently staying at a hotel, thinking of his next destination and picking up girls.

Any Additional Details: Despite coming from Japan, Kaze actually looks more European. He his very handsome, and has always been chased by the girls, his bad boy attitude adding to this effect. He stands 6 feet 3 inches tall and has black, short hair. Most often he is found dressed in a suit with or without the jacket, as demanded by Japanese schools. He is at present time 19 years old. His uncle was something of a gun nut, and Kaze got basic weapons training from him even before he took a break from his studies to serve in the army for a year. He is obviously strong, especially when it comes to kicking, and has great stamina and agility.

Cheesy, I know. I just had to role-play a character like this some time. Let me know if something is awry.

this looks like a lot of fun.

User Name: rogueshadows

Character Name: pierre rochet

Equipment: currently carrying a tray with two bowls of soup on it, and a cigarette lighter in his pocket, (in addition to the serviette over his forearm, but that won't really be usefull now will it?)

Background: Pierre emigrated from france only a year ago and is still picking up more of the local lingo. He is a trained waiter, but desperately wants to become a chef, as he really enjoys cooking. he is still in touch with his parents, and is trying to save enough money to go back to visit them. he has no formal combat training, but he makes a mean rattitouille.

Reason for being in location: It's a hotel, he's a waiter in the restaurant. he knows his way around the hotel rather well,

sub-plot: Pierre wants to steal the chef's personal recipie book. He is convinced the man knows, but doesn't share, the best combinations of herbs and spices to create countless exquisite dishes.

User Name: Revenent

Character Name: Matthew Krajuski

Equipment: A matchbox with four matches left and a pocket-sized can of spray deodorant. (Whoa, I honestly didn't think about how these could be combined until after I put them in.)

Background: Matthew grew up as an only child in the worst Hell imaginable; the suburbs of the Midwest. As he became capable of self-thought, Matt realized how boring his life was and found his only solace in movies, TV, books and whatevers other mediums for escape there was in his empty little town. When he entered high school, he took an active role in the drama club and created for himself a life-long goal of being an actor. Fast-forward ten or so years of poverty and back-breaking work that has nothing whatsoever to do with acting, and now Matt is in town for the filming of a new horror-suspense movie in which he plays a minor role. Two scenes, nothing special, but still his first movie.. He just checked into his hotel so he can begin shooting in the morning. And he was just about to head out for a pack of cigarettes when it all started...

Physical Description: Fairly tall, just below or at six feet in height. Fit with some muscle tone, but not enough to draw your attention to it. Short blonde hair that falls down to his eyebrows in front and halfway down his neck in back. Navy blue eyes. His face is very angular, but not fierce or threatening. He is currently wearing an untucked, blue button-up shirt, blue jeans and sneakers. He is also kind of pissed because none of the stores nearby sold his favorite brand of cigarette.

Reason for being in location: Like the background says, he's in town for the shooting of "his" new film.

Any Additional Details: Just to explain Matthew's "stats" better, he's not particularly strong, but is of somewhat above-average intelligence and (not that it will help) is a very good actor.

User Name: Clairaudient

Character Name: Paxton Willis

Equipment: A dark flask of cologne, but he thinks about half is gone. Also, a near empty wine bottle.

Background: Paxton was born in early May, 1984. His birth resulting from a failed contraceptive, his parent were never very close. At age 3, Paxton's parents split and he went to live with his father. His father was a young man, only age 24 at the time he had Paxton, and felt the weight of his child on his mind at all times. Though he loved Paxton, his still wanted to revel in his youth. Throughout Paxton's childhood and early teenage years, his father had had many girlfriends or brief 'visits' from other lady friends. With his life in it's current state as a single father, he sought his escapism from parental duties in other women. This made Paxton have a very 'narrow' view of women. Now 24 himself, the time when his father and mother first met, he lives a lifestyle similar to his father's at that age. He chases women, loves and leaves them. Promises to call but never does. Living off the royalties to some songs he wrote for some pop artist, he doesn't work that often and has time to relax, work out, and chase the ladies. He is slight of frame, with red hair and green eyes (Thanks to an Irish mother). He is toned but not overly strong or muscular.

Paxton is fairly agile, no marathon runner, but quick on his feet.

Reason for being in location: Coming back from visiting a lover he once had across the sea, Paxton is staying the night in the only hotel with vacancy in his lay over on the way back home. He managed to pick up a cute girl at the airport bar, looking for a one night stand. They went to the hotel with a bottle of wine, drank and were 'merry'. She left soon after, however, claiming to have to work early next morning.

Paxton is currently lying on his hotel bed, finishing off the last bit of wine. He is wearing some pajama bottoms and a t-shirt. His smokes and some matches are next to him as well as his cologne.

After getting the OK from Qaiyn I am proud to reveal my character sheet. It's fairly long, so look out.

User Name: Fire Daemon

Character Name: Aleksander Nikolayevich Rodionov

Background: Aleksander Nikolayevich Rodionov, Alex for short, was born during the Russian winter on 1947 in what was once known as Stalingrad. The son of a school teacher, he lived a rather unfulfilling childhood. He longed to live the life of the children he would see running through the streets. The freedom to do as they please with out tedious schoolwork or chores, it would have been so magical to him. He witnessed lives full off adventure through the classroom windows and longed for nothing else but to join them. His father, however, commanded that he be brought up educated, civilized and respectful of his elders which meant that he could never be allowed to mingle with those that lived outside. His life would change one night during the closing days of Autumn when Alex was wrongly blamed for the breaking of a window and punished severely, deciding rather stupidly that he hated his family he ran away from home to join the other boys in their adventures outside.
The reality hit him like a bullet that first night. Being laughed away from the other boys and the chilling air of autumn hurt much more than any punishment an adult could have given him. Despite his suffering he stayed on the streets, determined never to go home. He soon learnt how to face life on the streets, mastering the art of stealing and lying in under a week, two weeks he could run, climb and jump as well as the other boys, three weeks he had felt like he had been raised by the streets his entire life. However he still was not accepted by the others as one of their own. The ability to read and perform simple arithmetic exiled him from the others who had no understand of letters and numbers. He did not let this deter him, in fact it improved him. A forced lone wolf existence made him more self reliant and much better at surviving the harsh streets of communist Russia. After a month the life of living on the streets was no harder to him then the life he once lead. He had mastered the ways of thievery, fighting, athletics, begging, pickpocketing and lock picking. He thought of himself has the best thing on the street, that nothing could upset him or make him go back home. Then the winter arrived. It was the hardest thing he had to endure and one that would eventually defeat him. The other children lived together, usually in abandoned warehouses or factories but Alex lived alone, under a bridge. Unfortunately for him the first night of winter was also filled with rain. His bed and blankets became soaked through, he had no source of warmth, his life of exile gave him no friends to huddle with for warmth, the rain started to flood under the bridge, forcing him from his home and leaving him with no shelter from the wind. He was forced to do what he had dreaded in the two months he had spent living the street urchin lifestyle. He was forced to go home.
His Mother and Father were shocked to find their missing son on their front step half dead and begging for help. The let Alex return home, they punished him constantly punished him for leaving them, but let him come home. Alex didn't like living at home, especially during the summer, but he had little choice but to stay. The streets had nearly killed him once before, it was likely they could do it again.
Alex spent the rest of his childhood and early adulthood studying. He learnt the teaching of Marx and Engels, Starlin, Lenin, the history of the proud USSR, the history of the pathetic USA, many different languages, geography, ancient history, the sciences, the arts, he learnt it all. When he reached the age twenty two his education had finished and he was left with nothing in front of him. Standing at the edge of the abyss, with no clear future in front of him it would be a piece of propaganda that would determine the course of his life. He was to join The KGB.
His experience on the streets of Stalingrad prepared him for employment at the secret Russian police. His education, his fitness, his street smarts, his party loyalty, all impressed the Interviewers and he was given the job he was the perfect candidate for. He worked his way through the KGB ranks, performing operations of varying importance and method. He planted documents, recovered documents discovered spies and double agents, tortured, he killed, he saved lives of those that mattered to the Communist Party and on certain occasions he loved but enemy and ally. He travelled the globe, visited many Embassies, meet so many people. He lived the adventure he had so long dreamed about and what more, he was good at it. They say that he could have become a Directorate if the KGB hadn't disband, but disband it did and Alex found himself with no job. He survived for a short while assisting terrorist organizations and drug lords but as the millennium grew closer he found his age had started to catch up to him. As he grew more and more tired he knew that he had to say farewell to his previous way of life and start a new existence supported by the profits of a life filled with danger. He removed himself from the terrorist grid and opened a small book store in Moscow, giving himself something to do in the day. He now lives a simple life filled with reading and selling books. The only adventures he takes part in now are those contained on paper however he wants it no other way. Tired of living life on the edge he relishes in the comfort brought about by his standard existence. He would have it no other way.

Reason for being in the Hotel: Visiting relatives he faintly remembers.

Equipment: A Bobby Pin and a hip flask, containing the finest Russian Vodka of course.

Don't worry, I don't blame you. The basic jist is an ex KGB with booksmarts and street smarts. He's old now so isn't very fit and probably a bit slow to move around. He might of also put on a bit of weight

If you think your character is slow to move around, just wait till you see mine. I PMed the sheet to Qayin a while ago, but I really can't be bothered to post it in the thread just yet.

Here we are: Annabel Lee, your friendly, mentally unsure neighborhood drug addict.

User Name: Mnemophage

Character Name: Annabel Lee

Equipment: Can of mace; drug stash, including prescribed anti-depressants and anti-psychotics, pharmeceutical but definitely unprescribed painkillers, and cocaine, in quantities large enough to get her arrested for trafficking if she were caught.

Background: Linda Verdt's pregnancy was unexpected and, after the problems she had experienced with her first, unwelcome - but her husband urged her to carry the child to term, desiring a son to carry on his name. His persistence rewarded him with Annabel, and his wife's death. After that, Dr. Dominic Verdt was not quite the same person, and did not have the warmth for his second daughter that he had shown to his first. Her childhood was a cold and lonely thing, full of expectations and punishment. She was a clever girl, although never smart enough, it seemed; if she met her father's expectations, then she was berated for not exceeding them, and if she did not... well, it is enough to say that Annabel got through her youth with more scars than friends.
She married the first boy to show her any affection, an amiable med student named Ben Orrey, who took her virginity, and took her away from home. It did not take even a year for him to start seeing other women, and taking out his stresses on his wife. She was eighteen when she married, and twenty when she left, taking his car, his money and a new name in lieu of a divorce. Her life after that was a blur of fun and felony, a dark, cathartic release of all the years of repressed rage and frustration she kept locked inside her lips. Perhaps it was the drugs, perhaps nothing more than the repression and abuse of her background, but she is no longer the same obedient thing she was before.
Annabel Lee lives only for herself, as she is the only person who has not betrayed her.

Reason for being in location: She's been a resident for about a month, though she is planning to move on soon, and utterly uncaring about the large debt she owes the hotel. She's skipped out on bigger things before.

Any Additional Details: Annabel is a recreational drug user, and mentally unstable. Whether or not she was born a psychopath is irrelevant, as she currently demonstrates the inflated ego, impulsive behavior and lack of empathy that characterizes the breed. Most of the drugs she keeps in her room, only carrying the cocaine and oxycontin on her person.

Character Name: Wilson Escher

Equipment: Clothes. A wheelchair.

Background: Born in 1933, Wilson wanted to join the army when he was young. He played with toy guns from an extremely young age, and anything to do with the army; leaflets, newspapers with stories about wars, he would collect and hoard. Then, when he was seven, World War 2 was declared, and he thought that was the best day of his life. He longed to join them on the front as he grew up and reached puberty just as the war ended. He joyously celebrated the defeat of the nazis, and started to look towards what he would have to do to join the army. He then fell ill with polio, and had both his legs paralyzed. He was devestated. His dreams of being in the army were shattered by bad luck, and he retreated from society. For almost a year he never left his room, his mother taking meals up to him. He eventually braved the outside world, cold and cut off from people he knew. He went to university and studied military history, the closest subject to which he had any interest that his disability would let him take. He left, became a historian at another university and married at 32, having three children, a boy and two girls, before he retired at sixty-five.

Reason for Being at the Hotel:His family threw a birthday party for him at the hotel.
............................................................................
Not terribly long, but I always wanted a character in a wheelchair.

EDIT: Also:

Character Name: Joseph Holopainen

Equipment: an old nail and a keyring w/ four keys

Background: Born in a boring central Californian city, he grew up in a fairly boring way. His greatest ambition is to become a famous jazz musician. As a music type, he spent long hours practicing piano. However, his father didn't approve and refused to pay for his son to go to college. After working in construction for several years, he had saved up enough money to go to college and has a dual major, musicianship and psychology. He managed, at age 26, to get a job playing piano at a hotel in the hope of making it big.
EDIT: I forgot to say his parents are both Finnish.

Reason for being in location: Every decent hotel has to have a ballroom, he plays the ivory box in this one's.

Super short, I know, I think I'll edit more in after I get more ideas.(this is my first RP, by the way. Just to let you know)

I've decided to revive Gulliver for this RP, he's my favorite character to use for horrors. If you want someone new I can provide but I think Gulliver will mesh well with this.

User name: Khedive Rex

Character Name: Gulliver DeLune

Equipment: Insulin shots. Two-way radio.

Background: Gulliver comes from a very rich family in Toronto. Him and they didn't get along well. He found them stuffy and restricting and they thought he was ruining the family name. As a kid he was treated mostly like an outcast (other kids called him 'Loony') because he believed in bigfoot and such. He got into a lot of fights and lost all of them. At twelve he saw what he was sure was a bigfoot. Though, no one else saw it and no one believes him.

He loves animals and always has. He's pretty much devoted his life to finding scientific proof of the existence of many "mythical" creatures, though bigfoot in particular holds a special place in his heart.

He took a couple years of medical school which his parents paid for begrudgingly. He dropped out eventually and moved into the Zoological industry, initially working at an animal reserve in South Africa but eventually moving to his true passion, cryptozoology. He's been through most of the unbearable rain forests of the world and so has a basic understanding of wilderness survival but it's really not his specialty. He was always the science guy who had to prove whether the half decayed animal corpse was actually a new species.

Cryptozoology doesn't pay well, so he's not a very well off man. He's very aware of this and it bothers him when other people flaunt their money. He resolutely refuses to ask the elder DeLunes for money as he cut all ties with them about 6 years ago. He's 28.

Basically, personality wise, he's a man with something to prove. He can be confrontational, if he thinks a person is demeaning him. He can also be quite amicable if people are flattering him. He's got an ego. He's not afraid to throw a few less than thought out punches even though he's not that good at fighting. He's got a bit of an inferiority complex (in that he's always trying to prove to people that he's not inferior). He really likes animals and doesn't want to see damage done to any of them. He's fine with hurting people though. And he has diabetes.

Reason For Being In Location: He's meeting his parent for the first time in 6 years. They paid someone to track him down and ask him to come home. He's agreed to meet them in this hotel. He doesn't know why they want to see him again; the meeting has him very agitated and nervous.

No worries, at the earliest it'll be starting saturday night, but I need at least 3 more sheets before I could begin, otherwise there just wouldn't be enough players to last longer than a few weeks.

Yes, that's right, most likely the most amount of work I've put into an RP, and I'm short players...

Gah, serves me right for A) making it rather complex and B) requiring many players and a daily post requirement.
