haha I loved that game I used to play that all the timeffs-dontcare said:You know what the funny thing is? This actually reminds me of a game called Vietcong that I used to play. Freaking awesome.
Ah, but he was a pilot.Howtheturntables said:They should make McCain a playable character
Yea I remember seeing clips of troops saying they had to use their issued condoms on the tip of the barrel of their M16s otherwise they would break.Kirbymike said:Not to mention the first M16 version (often referred to as the "Mattel 16" for it's flimsy design) will be interesting; I hope they make it accurately suckish. From documentaries I've seen, apparently American troops HATED the first M16.
Alright good point, I can respect that view. But fr a historical war like Vietnam (e.g. actual events), I think sticking to the facts, not Hollywood, would be best.gmer412 said:MW2's, actually. I liked it because it was ridiculous and stupid (moreso than in the first game). I mean, if you have a medium as flexible as a video game, where you can create any setting and any plot, why have it stick to life as we know it? Why not make the settings and plots crazy? I live here; why do I want to play a game that imitates where I am all the time? This also applies to sports games.almostgold said:From the article:
This angers me. Why not take 'particular' influence from, you know, the war itself? There are plenty of first-hand accounts and war footage out there to avoid the embellishing of Hollywood for production reasons. I remember hearing some IW employee mention that while COD4's campaign was meant to be a realistic depiction of modern warfare, they made MW2's to be 'cinematic'. Which did you like more?...and takes particular influence from classic movies Apocalypse Now and Platoon.
I agree with you there. If you have to have a game based on a real war, you shouldn't use sources that drew from the war. You should use the war itself as a source.almostgold said:Alright good point, I can respect that view. Any way, anyone else think this is gonna be too much like the Pacific missions from WaW meets MW? I mean, helicopters, AC-130s, M-16s, M60s, etc were all used in Vietnam...
From documentaries I've seen they said the first batch of M16s used or tested with were sabotaged cause the military didn't feel like having to reissue weaponry if the current armament was sufficient.Kirbymike said:From documentaries I've seen, apparently American troops HATED the first M16.
