combat ones give a bonus to damage (midnight_toker gets a 1D8 damage bonus from his intensive physical training instead of the 1D4), magic ones make your magic stronger, and non combat ones vary, revered people will like you more so merchants will most likely drop their prices a bit, brawn will let you study how your enemies fight so you can learn their styles and become more effective with weapons (I'll just bold things you can learn), brains instead of having to be taught something depending on the situation an explanation of it will suffice for you to learn or just watching some one do it (again will be bolded). I was planning on using your new merchant friend as a basic run down of this.
as for the user group they're implementing/testing new things to them so they've halted user group creations for now.

Ossa: "Welcome come on in and have a look around." he opened the door and an extremely wide array of items for sale was there, armors , weapons, an impressive collections of herbs and vials, and much more. "As I said I deal in just about everything there's a training gym in the basement and a few rooms upstairs that I rent. Nothing is free of course you'll have to pay but I'm willing to haggle on prices of anything." (Let's say for simplicities sake that the standard unoriginal currency is gold pieces, and you all start off with 100 of them.) "I'll let you rest in the rooms upstairs for free tonight but if your ever back here again you'll have to pay like any other customer. Good night we can talk again in the morning when my workers are here."
