Trolling is funny. It's that simple. It works really well with people who are new to the internet.

I feel you there mate. I can't count the amount of times that I have been called a troll for not going with the crowd. It seems most places you go on the internet that if you don't conform to someone's opinion you are called a troll. It's quite stupid considering that internet forums are for DISCUSSION and you can't have discussion without differing viewpoints and opinions.Schneizel said:In my experience, people very often see unorthodox, but well reasoned opinions and scream "TROLL". I feel society (and internet society) has become like the Spanish inquisition - people looking for undesirables to be angry at. Imply anything out of the ordinary about how you think and people will assume you're lying to make them angry. I'm aware there are actually people who do just that - but I can't speak for them.
A non-answer to the OP's question, really. But I feel it important that people know that sometimes even extreme opinions are actually the true feelings of the poster, and shouldn't automatically assume it's an attempt to annoy others.
In fact, given the choice between people who'll deliberately try to annoy me or people who will dismiss my opinion because it's unorthodox and extreme, ignoring the reasoning I put forth, I'm not sure which I'd least like to spend eternity in hell with.
