Ocheeva from Oblivion.

I wept. For days. If you've played the game, you know what I'm talking about.

Luna from harry potter, and i mean this sincerely, she needed her own series i loved her so much

secondly, the russian rat trainer from coraline.... I wanted him and his rats to help, he was such great character... but no, they were more or less useless to the story unless you count there opposites

Columbia from Rocky Horror Picture Show. I just...that voice...that hair...course maybe she's not considered irrelevant...but I don't care! If Eddie can get a mention, so can Columbia.

My fav is a semi-relevant character. From Firefly, the cop posing as a passenger that causes a whole mess trying to capture Simon and River. He's built up into this huge thing and then Mal walks on the ship, in a hurry, shoots him without even breaking his stride, and gets on with what he wanted to get taken care of. That moment is the one where I went from being mildly interested in Firefly to deeply in love with the series. So yeah, he's my fav.

The coalition soldier at the battle of Hu lao Gate in Dynasty Warriors 4 that gets killed by Lu Bu.

He sacrificed himself so that we knew the power of Lu Bu!

She may have been the best character in that movie.
I love Kim, so funny

I've been reminiscing about all the various films that I've watched over my years, when suddenly this occured to me:

In a LOT of films I see, I always tend to pour all my love at one specific character. Obviously this isn't a problem, but...a lot of the time the character I end up absolutely fucking LOVING turns out to be the most pointless character in the entire film.

So it got me thinking...what characters in, well, anything (film, book, TV show, game, whatever) have you absolutely adored, but who turned out to be absolutely worthless in terms of...anything in the film?
The only valid answer to this question is Boba Fett.

Agreed. She had some of the best lines in the books and the actress was spot on (like everyone else in that movie)

The Imperfect Tank Bred Krogan from Mass Effect 2. God he was so adorable I wanted to bring him back on the ship. I love him more then Wrex and Grunt COMBINED.

For those who do not know who I am talking about:

Sandal from Dragon Age.
My suspicions that he could do more than just enchant weapons for me were confirmed when I found him in a room filled with dead darkspawn.

His cheery demeanor just makes it that much better.
