I eat fake meat all the time and it really doesn't bother me. I didn't start eating it right after becoming a vegetarian however, so really didn't associate meat with food anymore by the time i started eating it. Some of them are pretty good, and a few restaurants even serve them on the menu. If you are curious, i would suggest Garden Burgers since it is really nothing like a beef burger and isn't really an attempt to simulate the taste of meat.Simalacrum said:Try and find some good veggie recepies, there are a lot of them around.
Oh, and never try to find an alternative to meat (e.g. fake meat). They pretty much always suck and make you miss the real thing.
Well im sure the 100's of vegi debate threads would see your arnt the only one lolJulianking93 said:I think I'm the only vegetarian Escapist, though I could be wrong.
OT, I usually just eat proteins that are in beans, cheese and peanuts. I don't ever have a craving for meat because...well,I've never had it.
You shouldn't feel ill just from being a veggie by the way. Just eat like you normally would, but when you would normally eat meat, replace it with a different source of protein. That's what I do and I'm perfectly healthy.
Also Tofu is a great meat replacer because its made for just that, a meat replacement.
If you have any other questions, PM me if you want.
Exactly. Bacon with Nutella is weird, but I recommend you try it at least once.TheZapper said:Just eat some bacon and forget these silly ideas. bacon makes everything better.
Too bad that some vegetarians are idiots, and for instance they make their children eat only vegetables. Children as young as 1-2 year olds.Chapper said:Right, so vegeterians are dumb? Sure we've been omnivorous through all stages of evolution, but how big a deal is the act of survival today? Why go on a diet that doesn't make you healthier, thinner or does ANYTHING except forcing you to take pills? Face it, a lot of vitamins also come from eating meat. Same goes for fats.Chapper said:Humans need nutrients like protein, fat, calcium etc. These are easily attained from alternative sources or pills.Marq said:Meat is a chemical requirement for the human system. There is no alternative. To have a healthy diet, you must eat meat.
Being a vegetarian is dumb. We have teeth to eat both vegetables and meat, we also don't have the enzymes to process grass like cows or sheep do it.
Bottom line here is that people can eat whatever they like, because you can always get your proteins from somewhere else. Think about it, if vegeterians fell down dead on the streets, then you'd have a point by saying they're dumb, but that's not the case. Bashing people for their opinions is incredibly childish, and that, good sir, is what you're doing now.
I don't see any problems with that as long as they're careful about giving them enough nutritious food. Meat is merely a medium where some nutrients are stored. These are found in other food sources as well.Abedeus said:Too bad that some vegetarians are idiots, and for instance they make their children eat only vegetables. No, actually, small children NEED meat. Especially when they start growing. You can't shove pills down their throats. Don't you watch House?Chapper said:I don't see any problems with that as long as they're careful about giving them enough nutritious food. Meat is merely a medium where some nutrients are stored. Maybe because there are more meat eating people. Logically, if there were more vegetable-eating people, the human race would've long evolved into grass-eaters. Hardly an evolution, considering that grass-eaters can't survive on meat... And omnivores need both, too.And don'r single out groups like that. There are plenty of idiots in the meat eating community too.
You can replace the anchovies with nori...but it's not particularly "ceasary." The only substitute I've found was Annie's...which tastes kinda like mayonnaise.dietpeachsnapple said:$10 says I could find a Ceasar dressing without anchovies, and why are eggs out? Hmm, I haven't tried that brand, but I will take your word for it. Salads, in general, are available to our new vegetarian friend, but it seemed somewhat trite to offer something so simplistic and obvious as an option.Xanian said:You can replace the anchovies with nori...but it's not particularly "ceasary." No, I don't watch House, sorry. I've seen a couple episodes, though, and it's usually good fun. However, I can't be bothered to sit down at an exact period of time each day to follow a series. I need the DVD set. I'm a bit strange like that.Abedeus said:Snipety-snip
Yeah, I would agree but after seeing today's LRR I thought: let's search the forums for some food ideas(I do have some spare time to waste).Gildan Bladeborn said:You have to go out of your way to supplement, or you're going to have deficiencies in your diet - there are some things you simply cannot get from an exclusively vegetarian diet (or not nearly enough of it if you can). I would seriously recommend looking just about anywhere other than a gaming forum for those sorts of details, expecting to find expert advice on nutrition from us strikes me as rather akin to panning for gold in your own shower in terms of unwarranted optimism.
