im glad im not the only one pissed that 'almost human' got strangled....i realy liked the back and forth between dorian and his human (lol)

for me, i would prefer another shot at Crusade (the babylon 5 spin off) than a rebbot of B5 itself (since we lost peter jurrasic, it just wouldnt work unless it was animated and they used his voice i think. no one i can think of, could play the great and silly londo molari better, if at all)
*edit seems i was wrong. londo is still with us, it was G'Kar we lost. ether way no one but andreas could play G'Kar and no one but Peter could play Londo ....

of course firefly...if they could make another series set *befor* serenity (the movie) we could have more full crew stories but i doubt they would...how about cartoon / books with their stories slipped in between episodes..guys..guys? :p

but yes. too many good shows these days are being canceled becasue the 'mainstream' types dont watch them
(ergo, its not some drama-llama laced soap opera style tween adoring, young adult drama show or true life / reality tv show stuff. just because its cheap to make, does NOT make reality tv shows better. its just means your budget goes further and you can make more of the same drek.)

or they get moved up the schedule so crap can be put on at the highest viewing time slot...
yes, im looking at YOU bbc....stop shoving the damn dance shows and singing shows on at the 6-7 slot....you know thats why the ratings for dr who dropped over the years after tennant left. it wasnt ALL matt smith or river song hate. your target audience has allways tuned in, its the social types that are getting ready on satday night at that time, who pop the telly on while getting ready to go out on the town that you loose...by the time 7.30 or 8pm hits, they are ready to go get waisted..they leave by then. want better ratings for it? shove the reality crap to 8pm and see the difference lol

Without a doubt Millennium. The first season of this show from the late '90s remains the best I've ever seen. The characters, the storyline, the setting, the atmosphere, the philosophical undertones; everything was of such an exceptional quality. And it had Lance Henriksen(love that guy) as one of his most impressive roles as a former FBI profiler who can peek into the mind of a serial-killer and now works for a spooky group of high-level consultants known as the Millennium Group. There is an overarching plot that involves the agenda of this group, but each episode is basically standalone with a distinct and highly intriguing new story.

The first season was just exceptional, and I doubt it will ever be surpassed(well, for me atleast :p). The second season was also pretty good but it slowly got kinda in a slump as Frank had to partner up which diminished much of the oppressive atmosphere and the storyline started to divulge heavily into conspiracy theory. The writers had to make a lot of concessions due to the the network(Fox) finding the show ''too dark''. Now compared to shows like Breaking Bad or The Walking Dead it can be considered pretty tame, but times change I guess.

Millennium was also way ahead of it's time, dealing with issues that are probably even more relevant today than they were back then. I keep gushing over it but the first season of Millennium, it's a truly amazing piece of work. Interestingly Lance Henriksen seems interested to reprise his role as Frank Black in a feature film, though Chris Carter(the series creator) is ''too busy surfing''.

On a single-season scale, I'd say The Leftovers fits this quite well. I was ready to drop out after the first four episodes, since all of them but the third one were pretty boring. Intriguing, interesting, yes, but still boring and meandering. I kept watching because episode three was really, really good and I hoped for more episodes like it.

Boy am I glad I kept watching, because episodes 5-9 have all been exhilarating, and I can't wait for next week's finale.

Did Touching Evil get mentioned?

Only one season.

A few cringeworthy moments but interesting characters and an awesome soundtrack with a story very heavy on emotions got me to slip a few tears here and there...
