Let's see. The Big Bang Theory is my personal favorite. Some other good shows (if you're looking for comedy) are Scrubs, Weeds, Freaks and Geeks, Arrested Development, The IT Crowd, and The Office. Aslo cartoons like Pinky and the Brain, Animaniacs and Invader Zim are good. If you're looking for a series with a flowing storyline (although probably not if you're just looking for something to kill time that you can just pick up and watch) my favorites are Heroes, Jerimiah, and Dexter.

Its a kids show. Your not supposed to take it seriously. And they make some excellent adult jokes. Who wouldn't want to hear Thor say "stop, hammer time".
