No, about 5 minutes now and then when I accidentally end up there through some link. The ads are just annoying on that site.

When you first discover it, it's extremely easy to spend a million hours looking up every piece of fiction you've ever found even remotely interesting.

After the initial ARCHIVE BINGE [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ArchiveBinge], it becomes easier to pull yourself away. You start going to it to look up specific things and get off track less and less often.

It actually becomes a fairly useful reference for people who like to write stories and things like that.

I usually go on it for long periods of time every so often, then go off it again for a similar period of time. Now that I've been through a lot of it I'm quite alright without it, though I do enjoy comparing things that I've read/watched/played on there.

Know it. Love it. Often times I'll be trapped in there for hours, but it's gotten far easier to escape. Upon first exposure, I was trapped there for 10 hours. I haven't had it that bad since, but still...

TvTropes is great. I spent hours starting from Final Fantasy XII to going to tenths of definitions and related games. And it was awesome.

I love readin TvTropes. Fortunately/unfortunately for me, my internet blocks the phone so I only get 2-3 hours at a time that I split between there and here.

Can't post in this topic, too busy reading TvTropes.

Yes, I know of it, it's become my go-to website when bored (replacing Cracked now I've read almost all the articles)

I do love it, and I use it frequently when I'm writing. I'm a registered troper under MelasZepheos there as well.

I've spent long enough reading it now that I can leave, because by now I think I've read almost everything I want to read at least once. Basically I only go back in order to double check on things.

I get stuck there for hours at a time. My girlfriend has to tell me to stop reading before I will. >.>

I dont see why theres a meme that it takes up all your life. I found it to be quite boring tbh, read about 12 pages then went forever

Ah, yes, TVtropes... About the only thing I could do that was half-way entertaining in my school, and I did lose track of time on ocation. Not often, though.

I know of it, but never got trapped by it :/

On the other hand, Wikipedia or more exactly the Internet in general... they own most of my entire life :D

My tv-tropes experience is pretty much the same as your description: I go in, and I don't come out until I'm forced too. I can't really give you a definite answer as to why it's addictive, but I'd bet it has something to do with it being one of the largest collections of nerdgasm-inducing material in recorded history.

I think it may be something to do with an addiction to information, given I have a similar problem with wikipedia. It's just presented more humorously in tv-tropes, and you can spot some tropes in a number of other media forms very quickly.
