While giving pot to a two year old is, well a bad thing to do, its just pot people. 11 years seems a bit much.

Fun stuff. Not exactly the smartest or sensible thing to do.
On a side note, I imagine the mother would have gotten in less shit if she videoed her toddler playing around with a real gun.

Anyone that thinks this isn't that big of a deal doesn't have children.

You do realize that even a wrong calculation of any drug including prescription drugs can endanger toddlers.
Judging by the content of Cassita's post thus far, no, I don't think that he/she does. If a little too much tylenol can have severe negative reactions on an infant logic would dictate that pot maybe isn't the best thing to introduce to them.

As an addendum: Look, I get it, some people like to smoke pot. I personally don't but I understand that realistically speaking the only serious negatives that come from it spawn from getting caught. It's not good for you, but it's actually probably better for you than some things that are actually legal. None of that matters in this case though.

Infants should not have them. Let them become a disaffected teenager before they make that decision for themselves. They need to take that kid away from her and let someone competent and loving raise that child.
Well thankfully the authorities took the child

As someone who has had experience in drug matters, I am anti-every drug except pot. With alcohol you get pissed and you can get into violence, whereas with pot you pretty much just lie around and do nothing at all.

I actually think the only way the war on drugs will ever be won is to legalize everything, but monitor it closely and put the money into making it all safe and educate people in its dangers.
Very curious, how can you be aint-drugs... except pot? is it because YOU use it?

Also, the acohol statment was un true, pot has a horribe effect on me, yet I coud go and get shit faced on acohol but he safe, not cause violence etc etc.

Wut?

Ciggarettes have benzine, ammonia, acetone, tar and arsenic in them amongst other things, whereas weed is merely a plant which can have no long term physical effects whatsoever. There are theories that it can help bring out psychological issues but that's a tricky one to prove either way.

No one has ever died from gravity, ever. But people have died from the EFFECTS of gravity, or what has happened under the INFLUENCE of gravity.

Don't get me wrong. I'm pro-legalization. I think that alcohol can be just as bad in irresponsible hands. But the attitude you're taking is the same attitude that completely DESTROYS all efforts to help people see reason. I don't even smoke, and probably wouldn't, but I support legalization because of REASON and RATIONAL and EVEN-TEMPERED discussions.

Neither pot nor alcohol are "harmless." I've got my own personal experience with the matter on both counts, but suffice to say bad things happen from the use of BOTH of them. And yet millions use them without incident, as well. It becomes an issue of personal responsibility, and that's why I'm pro-legalization.

Let people choose, let them deal with any negative consequences. Of course, before this can actually happen, society will need to shift to a model that actually lets people FAIL and DIE when they are stupid--rather than constantly bailing them out of the negative consequences of their choices. Natural selection has a purpose.

As for this woman, she's an idiot. And she's proof that people shouldn't be allowed to have kids without taking a test or something.

11 years in jail seems a bit excessive but I think a (very) hefty fine and a visit from the child protection service would probably do the trick.

For the record im not defending her, irresponsible idiots like her shouldn't be allowed to have children.
This is the US, if she had a brain in her head she would have given the kid meth and only gotten 6 months probation.

And pot might not have killed, but it's not all happy fun time good for you: you CAN OD on it but the amounts needed to OD on it are much like those of caffeine, so bloody high that you would have to concentrate it and inject the concentrated form directly into the body.

I didn't watch the video, I don't really have much of a problem with this, no more than a 2 year old smoking cigs, but I when I saw the thread title, I automatically thought of this image (Which I have seen quite a bit on my travels of the internet)

Cool, another statement so ridiculous that I get to block you and don't have to bother with an argument.

Eugenics - supporting it makes you a bad person.

You're blocked.

Don't bother replying.

I don't care.
Blocking people who do not agree with you and then telling them that they're blocked is not a particularly mature or clever way of going about forum use..

Dumb, but then it doesn't matter one way or another. People will find a way to blame it on pot instead of the person doing it. Without going into a tirade/diatribe/rant/discussion on mertis/detriments of pot, I will say that we must hold ourselves responsible for our own actions and not externalize them by saying "its because of [insert drug here]"
Reiterating: Stupid people shouldn't breed, not because their kids will be stupid but rather have to endure having idiots for parents.

Funny, considering no one has ever died from pot.

Ever.

Oh wait, that's right, it's not taxed.

Go back to drinking and smoking, people, nothing to see here.
Except mind altering substances given to a toddler when their brain is actually forming is fucking stupid and can fuck them up severely. Not to mention the fact that they're inhaling smoke. The danger of the smoke is debatable, but the fact that smoke is going into the infants lungs is true, which is still fucking despicable.
Oh I see.

Shoot, guess everyone better have their baby in a bubble, aye.
I liked that movie....

Also, Pot is actually more harmful than Cigarettes. Usually you dont smoke it as much though.
Theres a difference between letting a child get a few cuts and bruises, and giving it hazardous substances. Its the same as giving them a cigarette. Pot also fucks up your memory, so its probably not good for developing minds

OT: Child endangerment is pretty serious, but 11 years? What were the other charges? Id say they might be trying to send a message
Possession of an illegal substance with intent to distribute
giving it to a minor (baby)
so child abuse with an illegal substance sounds pretty serious to me.

You can ask any long time weed smoker and they'll tell you it does effect your mental performance. Hell, I can even see effect of it on my mates, some of whom have been doing it for less than a year.
