Do you type with the regular school-taught use of index fingers on F and J or do you look at the keyboard like I do? Or do you have some other irregular style? Both hands? One hand?

I have an odd way of typing. It certainly isn't the "home row" school of thought, but I'm quicker than most people I know, and any mistakes I end up making are quickly fixed. I use both hands, and just tend to gravitate towards the words that I am spelling, if that makes any sense.

I type as fast as I can with as many spell errors as I can make within every comment I make. So yeah It's basicly typing "blind".

I do both. I have "proper placement" of my fingers, but I have to watch myself type. I'm dyslexic(sp?) and honestly it just saves me time in the long run on corrections. I use both hands.

i just keep them somewhat centered, and i look at the keys. i cannot FOR THE LIFE OF ME type coherently without looking at the keys.

I definitely don't type normally: there's no real form to it, really. I've gotten used to it to the point where I no longer need to look at the keyboard all the time, but it certainly helps if I make a mistake or get lost in the translation of thoughts to words. It's not the typical way to type, but my speed (using the official formula, applied to a minute's worth of freewriting) averages out to 95 WPM. So I'm fine with it.

I actuall have no idea... somehow words appear on the screen. I think monkeys are involved.
Or I mostly type with my whole left hand, and use the right hand's index finger. Or at least that's the way I write at the moment while I want to know how i type... damn you, that's like the "you are now breathing manually"!

I just stick my fingers over the Keyboard in general and type with both hands (Index only [Ring finger for Shift]), unless it's my Password (Left hand, using most of my fingers)

Seems I have also improved my typing speed while I've been here.

I just type. Usually I don't need to think about it, in fact thinking about it makes it harder for me. I usually still need to watch the screen, however.

I have found myself use the "home row" less and less as the years went by. Now my hands just move over the keyboard and I hit keys and words come out.

I didn't look while typing this and ths is how ir turned out.

Ehh, not too bad. I usually look for around half my typings. Like I'll flick my eyes up and down. Or something.

I've got the location of the letters basically memorized so I have no need to look at the keyboard when I'm typing. Of course I do make mistakes, but due to the fact that I use both hands when I type I can easily fix them.

I type like they taught me in school, but I've been thinking of going to DVORAK layout, just to see what the fuss is about. I'd have to relearn to type though... it'd be a bit annoying. (And hopefully no one would want to steal my comp. if they can't type on it.)
