Well... When I have a proper keyboard in front of me, I think up a word I want, and itson the screen. I'm vaguely aware of a clicking noise, and maybe of my eyes flitting every so often. OK... Maybe that's overly dramatic. All I know is that typing is very fluid and natural. Maybe it's because I never learned to type. I've been perfecting my motions for 12 years (yeah, I'm young). It's definitely not homerow. I have a lot more wrist movement, and sometimes it may seem a bit contortionistic, but when I think about it, I realise that what I'm subconciously doing is spelling the word, finding the keys in my head, then placing my fingers in a way that allows me to type the word non-stop. If I'm really in the swing of things, I can do this indefinitely, leading to super-quick typing. But as soonaz I notice and start thinking about it, I'm dead.
It has to be said, IRC seriously increased my typing speed and accuracy, just because of the quick-fire nature of it. And I always like to be correct, both grammatically and in my spelling. But if I fall out of practice, as I have lately, due to my regular keyboard being taken off me until the end of June. On a related note, I've gotten pretty good at typing with my thumbs...
