could someone please put the video embeded can't seem to make it work
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdIZuu6IaQo

The title may be a little bit misleading, but I had recently been introduced to a clip from The Tyra Banks show and couldn't help take a look. What followed was a bunch of laughing and "Oh shit, did she really say that?" They are just knocking on popular titles Final Fantasy 7 and Counter Strike and is just another show bashing video games for the sake of it but after thinking for a while I thought why the fuck would he want to be on this show anyway was he mislead? Perhaps he thought he would be able to justify his gaming habit. But hey I just guess you have to ignore it.... but we can't these shows are popular in the morning and nights and people are mislead on video games (I am looking at you Fox News!) so what are your thoughts on the video do you think this is justified or it is the same old drivel oh and on last thing. What the hell is Morgan Webb doing on the show and she is bashing video games? WTF! For those of you who don't know Morgan Webb is a presenter on X-Play with Adam Sessler who talk about video games for the entire show. This boggles the mind! So comment below tell me what you think.

P.S I bet Adam was pissed. Also I realise it could be arguable if they are mocking games are not but I think they are I mean if that's not good enough they are berating a man for his output that is very popular.

EDIT: It has come to my attention that Morgan Webb is doing more good than damage so take that into account. Also Fixed video

Just the look on the guys face at the begining makes it worth watching. He is thinking "You *****! This is the last time you trick me into going on a T.V. show!" I don't think Morgan Webb really wanted to be there. I think E! made her go. E! has really been cracking down on G4 for some reason.

The issue you have here is that you don't speak daytime talkshow.

Everything's this weird sort of metaphor code- Morgan Webb ultimately did good here for gamers, don't worry.

Why would E! make her go on Tyra's show, which airs on the CW. They aren't even owned by the same parent company.

I really don't see any criticism leveled at video games, you can even see the excitement Webb has when she's describing video games. She's not bashing video games, she's bashing bad video game habits. There's nothing wrong or scary about that. The armchair psychology bit is pretty much armchair psychology.

Who knew Morgan Webb was such a great psychologist? Here I was, thinking I play Halo because it's a fun, not even knowing that it's because I'm subconsciously fighting the world around me. I have learned SO MUCH today.

Also, I feel obligated to point that that "23, not 13" crack towards the beginning demonstrates a clear ignorance of the medium's growth and evolution over the....Well, no. Like Extra Credits pointed out, videogames have never been meant just for children. So she's just talking out of her ass.

There it is. You don't have to put the entire URL after [ youtube=], just that random jumble of letters/numbers at the end.

Morgan Webb, trying to stereotype guys by what games they play? Really? Considering I play all of those types of games, what does that make me? Although she really isn't bashing games here, that just kind of irked me.
Other than that, there are some passing insults at games ("you're 23, not 13"), but it's not AS bad as I thought it would be. In the end, he's simply asked to play the games less.
Although, and I know this is way out there, but how about the girl tries the games as well? She wants to understand what he gets out of them, so how better to understand than to delve right in? I'm not saying she has to play 24/7 along with him, or that he should be playing 24/7 at all, but it would certainly help her to understand her boyfriend better.
Unless she's some uptight ***** that thinks it's only for kids. Then this guy is clearly not dating the right girl for him.

E! is trying everything to get viewers for G4. Have you noticed the SEVER lack of anything video game related on the channel that calls itself "The home of video games"?

Does E! really think it's going to get G4 viewers from The Tyra Banks Show? I have a feeling Webb went out and did this on her own, to increase her own exposure.

"oh so your boss does it so that makes it ok now?" Paraphrased.

Go to hell you retarded, simpleminded whore.

If only she knew that the whole military plays video games.
If only she knew that women also play video games.

Wow Tyra is a total *****. Holy shit.

I would have slapped that whore of a girlfriend, called Tyra a jaded ***** and left.

If your girlfriend forces you to choose between your favorite hobby or her, she isn't the right girl.

Oh aren't us men all crazy. The funny thing is if there was anything like this, but for women, I'm sure it would be classed as sexist.

I am annoyed by people who criticize someone's life or their lifestyle. Nobody has any right to criticize anyones life, we just walk on this planet and live our own way. There is no good or bad way. That said, I don't like this Tyra Banks for treating games and gamers like that.
Tyra Banks, this is for you:

To be honest, if this woman's only problem is her man plays video games she should be thanking her lucky stars. Does he come home drunk at night and beat her? Does he gamble their money away? Does he sleep with other women? No? Well then what's her problem? Why does everything need to be about her, why does he have to spend every moment fawning over her? Let the man have a little space. In the old days he might do some work in the garage or have a bowling night and that was okay. People need a little personal time and a little space. If this woman doesn't understand that then she's going to hurt her relationship, and she's not giving him his proper respect. She should stop and ask herself if what her man's doing makes him happy and what harm it does to her. Expecting someone else to spend all their time making you happy or trying to find someone who makes you happy is an incredibly selfish thought, true happiness comes when you find somebody you enjoy to make happy. If you're trying to change others you need to stop and ask yourself "why?".

Two cents from Doctor John.

It's official! Games are for thirteen year olds! It's true because Tyra said so!

Eugh. Everything that came out of that 'expert' was a load of drivel. Games are entertainment. Games are fun. That's all there is to it (well, ignoring the experiences of narrative and story).

Also, holy shit! Games aren't real life?! Well who would'a thunk it?

From this video I get the impression that this guy's girlfriend is a woman who wants to mould a guy into her perfect vision of what her boyfriend should be, rather than just letting them be themselves. I could be entirely wrong about that but still...that's not a good thing to place a relationship upon.

edit: At least it wasn't as bad as the segment on the Alan Titchmarsh show.

Tyra Banks exists for the specific purpose of turning women into total fucking retards. I want to strangle her now, but it's really just because I've been reminded that she exists, not because she targeted video games. She is always this bad.

What kind of idiot goes on the Tyra Banks show? What kind of idiot has a girlfriend who watches the Tyra Banks show? I can't sympathize with that jackass. He deserves the constant emotional abuse he probably gets.

Holy crap. That poor editor. Just watching that clip made me feel like someone had shoved their boot up my rectum.

Also, Hurt Locker is not anti-war. Its a candid look at the effects of war. If anything, many of the scenes in that film showed a lack of humanity that would necessitate the full force of a nation to destroy (unwilling suicide bombers, hiding bombs in children you KILLED, etc).

I'm not goin to watch it... but did she get all, "psychological"? Because she does that... and she's completely and utterly unqualified.

"princeton" was in my captcha... pretentious

That's pretty much the only real contentious part of the clip. Other than that it was "maybe spend more time with your girlfriend", at no point was she "bashing video games" like the OP suggests.
