I am annoyed by people who criticize someone's life or their lifestyle. Nobody has any right to criticize anyones life, we just walk on this planet and live our own way. There is no good or bad way. That said, I don't like this Tyra Banks for treating games and gamers like that.
Tyra Banks, this is for you:
I would consider the lifestyles of serial killers, rapists and child molesters things I can comfortably criticise.

What I want to know is: does this woman do stupid, waste of time things like buying clothes, shoes, make-up, hair, or--oh wait, I'm sorry, I forgot, wasting time and money on THOSE things is okay.

One of my favorite arguments against games is "all that time wasted could be better spent elsewhere!"

Like where? On a job? I have a job. On friends? My friends play games with me. On hobbies? Gaming is a hobby. On charity? I give to charity, I still have plenty left for games. On a girl?

Seems to me the only problem here is someone who thinks that they are in a place to criticize someone's life.

Someone like Tara, in the FASHION industry of all things, really has no place judging people based on obsessing over useless things.
Yeah, I really don't get why people think they have a right to criticise how other people like to spend their free time. Why can't they just accept that other people might enjoy different things?

*Sigh*
I am sorry, I will be sure to state such things in the future. I just did not expect to find any serial killers, rapists or child molesters on these forums, so I didn't really see a reason to add that.

Wow. Honestly, that's the problem, videogames? And, Tyra basically saying that video games are for little kids with the "23, not 13" . Honestly, this shows the contempt people hold for anyone who likes games. I feel sorry for that poor bastard, getting lambasted in front of woman who seem to think all men are simple minded. This sexist, uniformed crap fills me with disgust at the people who enjoy this.

E! is trying everything to get viewers for G4. Have you noticed the SEVER lack of anything video game related on the channel that calls itself "The home of video games"?
Does E! really think it's going to get G4 viewers from The Tyra Banks Show? I have a feeling Webb went out and did this on her own, to increase her own exposure.
Scarilly enough, yeah, I think E! does. Like I said, they are trying anything for viewers. Also, women will watch the episode, record it, and show it to their supposedly game obsessed boyfriends. The boyfriends will think, "There is a channel for games?" if they don't already know about G4. I found out about the channel because one of the hosts of the old AOTS was on CNN.

I'm not goin to watch it... but did she get all, "psychological"?
That's pretty much the only real contentious part of the clip. Other than that it was "maybe spend more time with your girlfriend", at no point was she "bashing video games" like the OP suggests.
Good, I'm glad that my psychologist in-training sister's summary of her beef with the show has made it meaningless to ever have to watch it again. I always pull that question out and get right into the conversation :D

At the end I did say the mocking of video games was up for debate. However I still feel they are looking down on this man because he has an output that is always under the medias unforgiving eye and these people don't understand it they just are going with what is popular on tv they are the worst kind of people.

And you know what the biggest thing about this is this is sexist but people will most likely write it off because they are women because some people are so simple minded that they can't comprehend that Women can be sexist as well. My faith in this world has been dead for some time.

So an American daytime talk show could have done an intelligent interview on a man's addiction to video games, but instead they took the time to bash video games as a whole instead? Nothing new here, move on ;)

What was with the "23 not 13" comment? The average age of gamers is 34. Boys aged 17 or younger make up just 17% of video gamers. I would imagine the number is much lower for boys aged 13 and younger.

I really don't like Morgan Webb now. I always thought she looked creepy, but at least she seemed to know a bit what she was talking about. Yeah... No.

And if anyone posts that picture of her in a bikini, I will take the battle I'm fighting inside myself to you.

You must live in a really sheltered neighborhood where Tyra Banks could be considered "the worst kind of people". Nice bit with the "my faith in this world has been dead for some time", now you look sheltered and jaded. I don't know how you managed that.

Tyra obviously doesn't think gaming is strictly for kids, or she wouldn't say it was something "a lot of women can relate to".

I'm starting to think you watched a separate video.

If I was a guy, and I was dating a woman like that, I think I would spend most of my time playing videogames I think. Anyway, he did say that he cut down a lot from when he lived on his own, so what more does she want? Has this "obsession" become such a problem that he stops showing up to work and neglects to do things like pay the bills? does he neglect to spend ANY time at all with her and forget anniversaries? (I have known this to happen to some people) If the answer is no then she should pipe down and let him carry on with his hobby, not run to the Tyra Banks show so she can look down on her boyfriend. If I was the guy I would have just walked off and challenged his girlfriend to find someone better.

Okay I will give you that the ending was a bit dramatic but I can't somewhat feel that you love the Tyra Banks show (or at least somewhat like it) and I am not going to berate you because it is your choice in life to watch it. She IS the worst kind of person because she berates how someone else's life while clearly showing her ignorance of video games. However this is just one clip. I have mainly seen very negative bits of shows when I do tune in and from the rest of the posts it seems to be the same that people dislike her.Honestly I respect you, I really do, because you are defending for what you think is right call me a jaded I really don't care it is my opinion and I am sticking to it. You have never met me so you can't possibly conclude that I must be jaded I could have just as easily called you prick, asshole and so on but I didn't because I haven't met you how about you stand back and look at this objectively for a second. But I am sure that I must be some form of a twat now right or do I look even more jaded?

The issue you have here is that you don't speak daytime talkshow.

Everything's this weird sort of metaphor code- Morgan Webb ultimately did good here for gamers, don't worry.
Okay I think I will trust you on that one.

I saw the title and knew I was going to regret clicking on it... I was right. Though to its credit it was far less dumb then I was expecting.

I think she may have just done it to get on tv.

Tyra Banks obviously reaching for the paranoid/parental/technophobe demographic. This demographic is also known as the Fox News demographic. Thats all I got... Yup... Are you still reading this? Why would you? Go on now. Go read someone's take on this situation.
