Why is Keith Vaz still alive? Is he fed by all of the hatred his lies and misinformed idiocy creates?

Yeh, it must be getting near election time. Of course, I already know this, what with all the fliers posted through my door with some candidates hideous mug staring up at me from amongst their election pledges (fix the poor road conditions by filling in all the potholes with wind turbines, then stick a shiny new primary school on top of it, or some such variation of the three).

Oh well, I got 2 days to decide...though it may come down to making a spur of the moment decision on the night again.

Oh, I didn't even address the topic at hand. Well, I have no time for people like this (besides the time it took me to type this post, that is). At least he's not my constituency.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Just because Breivik used CoD to learn how to shoot doesn't mean it taught him how to kill! Being able to shoot to kill comes from the inside, you have to have the strength of will to shoot with the intent of causing bodily harm and death. Ask just about any man or woman whose been in military, especially one that's seen action, and he or she would tell you that it's not as simple as point and shoot.

He could just as easily learned how to shoot from a BB gun or possibly a shooting range (if that's possible in Norway). Hell he could have gotten a nerf gun and learned to aim from that!

That game did not make Breivik who he is and it did not make him a killer. The fact that he is schizophrenic made him who he is and that's what made him a killer. It's as simple as that.
I hear you saying ban mental illnesses? Does that mean crazy people will kill?.....On that Merit will Keith Vaz kill people? Oh Noes! We should all play COD so we can protect ourselfs from him!

...So is he planning to use all the violence associated with soccer to upmark EA's FIFA games as well?

A fantastic point. This article reminded me of a story I read about a rather famous American serial killer who used to watch the 'I am your father' scene from The Empire Strikes Back before each kill. People who are criminally and/or violently insane will find justification/motivation/validation from any outlet they can, no matter how relevant. We can't raise the rating of everything that could inspire violence, because literally ANYTHING could.

Personally I feel that violent games and other media serve as an outlet for these feelings, as opposed to a breeding ground for them. Of course, politicians will jump on any bandwagon they can to stir up controversy and gain a little limelight.

Oh for fuck sake! How can you possibly believe that he 'honed his skills through Call of Duty', that's like saying I learned to drive by playing Need for Speed! It's fucking stupid and should be disregarded immediately.

Fucking morons running my country.

Well at least I can be happy that brainless member's of parliament who jump on every cause to further their own name and cant realize NO ONE CARES ABOUT HOW NICER IT WAS IN THEIR DAY.

God I hate politicians who act like they are "saving" lives or something. Know what dude? GO out and try fixing unemployment and crime before wasting government money on useless legislation.

"X IS EVIL AND POISING ARE YOUTH WE MUST BAN IT!"
X has been video games, MTV, Rock and Roll, Marilyn Manson, Elivs, D&D, etc.
None of them brought the end of society.

Y'know, I want to talk to this guy. I want to tell him how his precious government dumped me in a hellhole school after no other school would deal with my incredibly minor autism, a guinea pig for a scheme that was never going to work, and was never supposed to work, that was just a PR stunt at the expense of mine and many other young lives. I'll tell him what happened to me. I'll tell him what I almost did as revenge, in horrifying detail. Then, I'll tell him how gaming was my only escape from the hell they created, and how such violent games have helped keeped my anger in control. I will tell him how many real people would've got hurt or worse if I didn't have anything to vent on.

And if that doesn't convince him that he's wrong, then that settles it. He's got something to gain from this, and is a filthy f***ing liar.

Gentlemen, our course of action is clear. We must remove Leicester from the face of the Earth. Not because of this tosser, but because they are East Midlanders, and therefore smell funny. For the West Midlands!

Keith Vaz, a defunct MP for a defunct party desperately clinging to try and take.the moral high ground because all their other members are being sacked for corruption, fraud, stupidity, leaking information and generally ruining everything. Nothing takes the heat off an inept government quite like a good media crusade.

If ever there was a good reason for the reapers to exist and actually come and fuck up London, it would be to come and wipe out these clowns. And to save us from all this blanket coverage olympics brainwashing.

Ah, Keith Vaz, been a while since I heard anything from him. His name should be preceded by the phrase "Leicester moron", or if you happen to be in Leicester, "local moron" ("Moron of Parliament" would also work, you can thank me for my comic genius later). The guy's just trying to make a name for himself. Someone should really tell him that the whole anti-video game fervour isn't particularly strong the UK (well, not as strong as some places). Then again, he is an elected official and should probably be a little bit better at judging these things himself. His repeated failures to get someone to take what he's saying seriously should be some indication of this.

It's nice to see him using mass murder as a platform from which to rant, though. He's a classy guy like that. Maybe next he'll trample a turtle to death and blame Mario for teaching him how.

Not that I have any objection to this man expressing his own opinions, but I do find the evidence he suggests rather flimsy and I'm unclear on what he proposes to do. Move the age rating for games like CoD from 16+ to 18+? Stricter enforement of age guidelines? None of that would have even mattered, considering the Norwegian shooter is an adult and would have been able to purchase the game anyway.
What's more, this is the only individual who played CoD and went on such a killing spree, out of the millions of people who bought the game and are perfectly sane (including minors). It would like restricting the sale of knives because they "could" be used to murder someone.
With that in mind, this "evidence" is highly circumstantial and has no place in Parliament.

That's right, murder the opposition with a blunt object. Thanks for helping further enforce the stereotype. >.>

What stereotype? I use a brick not a gun. Everyone knows only guns kill people and only video games make people kill people...with guns.

So, you're avoiding responsibility for your earlier statement by using irony to support our side of the argument. That's actually rather clever. :)

I'm going to quote a friend in response to Vas...

"You're an idiot."

And no, he didn't say it to me, he said it to another friend.

I KNOW RIGHT, how can people be so god dam stupid to even think this is possible. If it WAS true even half-true I would be fucking Solid Snake at this point. I have played hundreds (maybe thousands) of hours of FPS and I couldn't even load a gun properly if given one
