I just found out. Arnold Schwartzenneger(?) himself unveiled America's new "Super Laser", designed to counter nuclear missiles. The page is on Yahoo if you want to read it.

I just hope that what they said about making this a suitable energy source was real because that would be benefit for once.

This is old news. They already have lasers on some anti missile planes to shoot them down.

Been around for a little while the problem is practicality. We can't just hook up our ZPMs and attack the wraith. The power requirement would be enormous and something we just don't have at this point in time in a small size. In large sizes we can supply plenty but we would have to strap 3 foot tall backpacks to our backs to fire our lasers (blaah)

You're absolutely right.

First we have to help the Asgard defeat the Replicators, and we have to kill the Goa'uld.
