At the very least, cut a section out of the cover to have a 'zone' where the logos can go. This way it won't disrupt the continuity of the main image.

So, anyone call'd yet that they are going to ruin this art just before launch and gow ith generic "Here is the protagonist looking grim and determined!"?

If not so; I call it.

really hope im not the only guy who thinks the actual box art itself it crap let alone being embellished by more crappy logos <.<

i just cant get behind the color scheme or composition of the title and contrast of the whole thing. its a mess to look at even without the logos. O wells to each his own right?

Not all is lost, as the EU box art looks much better. The 'Move Support' is a strip instead of a button, the Insomniac logo fits the monotone theme, and the emblems are shrunk to draw less attention.
Yeah, that looks great. Also, I wonder why every region feels the need to have different box art? Couldn't you just standardize it across the whole world?

thought for the day: dayaye Microbiol.

I was sitting here thinking, "Eh, it can't be that bad." Then I saw it.
Oh man, to whoever designed that cover art... I am SO sorry.

The answer? Put the logos on a plastic overcover for the box, like with (the European) Killzone 3 and the Premier Edition of Red Alert 3.

That way the silly logos and age rating arent actually on the boxart. You can even displace the title like this.
What would happen when the game was sold secondhand?
In an ideal world, the box sleeve would come with it. This is not an ideal world, so results may vary.

That art is very nice, but that stuff belongs on the back. Let the art tell people about the game, nobody cares that it uses the PSN, at least anyone who would pick it up from the art alone won't be swayed by the PSN logo.

Bethesda regularly get us to pay to do their beta and QA testing so other companies(like Gap , as you say, with their logo drenched attire making ads of kids and mums the world over)might as well get in on the act of using us for more than we agreed to.

I rarely, if ever, think game boxes have decent enough art to worry about it, really, but IF the box in question(and I agree this one has a degree of artistic merit on some level)is arty enough then do as people have mentioned and put the name and PS logos on the outer see through sleeve. A case s a poor size, like a CD case for music, for ANY artistic statement and we would be better off having some art on a fold out poster insert/booklet than on the limited patch on the box front, no? LP sleeves (vinyl days) were a great size for a statement of artistic intent but, in my eyes the game box is as poor for the job as the CD sleeve was when it arrived and virtually killed all music's sleeve art in one fell swoop.

Then again, I've seen some AWFUL box art lately so I guess anything making it better(as most is tripe or just lazy headshots of the main cast)should be encouraged by not having too many words slapped across it's wares.

I see what you mean, it's like minimalist-come-fugly.

They should put all the logos on the back.

Yeah, I've seen stuff like that a million. Always a little tragedy, especially since I like to draw and design myself a bit.

I've always thought there should be an extra foil between the actual cover and the protective foil and this extra foil is completely blank except for the logos so that after the purchase, when it doesn't matter what the box looks like anymore, you can just dispose of it and enjoy your classy art.

But alas, who would want to finance such a gimmick in this world?
