I'm not really happy with the results... particularly with the fact that Liberal Democrats have pretty much confirmed that they will be forming a coalition government with Conservatives...
When did Clegg say that? sorry must of missed it. I thought that what is being made a big thing of is the fact that days ago he said that if it came to a hung parliament that his party would listen to the party with the most seats first. Unless the Tories make an offer that allows members of the Liberal Democrats to be part of the cabinet then it is unlikely that they will agree, also there are very big issues such as Defence, Immigration and Education that the two parties have very different views on.

Also I think that there is enough for a LD and Lab to form a majority, I may be wrong though.

I am pleased that my local constituency is still Lib Dem as are three of the ones surrounding it. I would have been far more upset if the conservatives has won in my area.

I was hoping the Liberal Democrats would do better... and if Labour get back in i'm gonna die. I'm not too fond of the Conservatives, but i'll put up with them if they don't join with Labour :p
I was hoping both the Tories and Lib Dems would do better. Still, if Cameron and Clegg can work together we might see Labour support drop even further by the next election.
And that would make my day happy :)

Why are you surprised and/or shocked?

The British political cycle is Labour,Tory,Labour,Tory etc etc, taking it in turns to be the same and boring.
i think that you forgot that it used to be Liberals/Torys and before that it was Torys/whigs. the Left wing is so splintered(Labour, Libdems, Greens, REPECT and the BNP(for everyone who thinks thier Right wing i suggest you look at thier policies and see the Socialism)) the right wing has only got UKIP and the Conservatives. i smell the begining's of another change in scenery on the left side.

on that basis i predict that within 20 year it will be Conservatives/LibDems.

and we are called the Right wing for a reason... (badumtish)

I love how the Liberal Democrats got less than 2005, I for one am glad. Now we wait until a coalition and electoral reform so UKIP can get in.
Yeah, since UKIP after all has all the most coherent policies, and would never ever not know what to do once they had pulled Britain out of the EU.
I happen to like some of their policies. After looking through the parties, UKIP (To me) have the highest number of policies I agree with.

My main difference to UKIP's policies is immigration, I say we let everyone and anyone in.
It is known for, apart from the anti-EU and immigration policies, populist policies. In other words, policies that they believe everyone will like. All it solidly has are the EU and immigration policies.

Yeah I'm not saying I like how it is now, I would much prefer some new parties in with a different electoral system.

let everyone and anyone in? are you insane? if a country has no control over immigration it just falls apart, we would become the country all immigrants went to because they know they just can, hence we would become over populated and since the tax payer has to pay for there houses we would lose money that goes to more important causes such as helping old people pay there electricity and gas bills so that they dont freeze to death in the winter.
You do realise that most immigrants also pay taxes. If we cut down on all immigration the UK would lose many hard workers or students who have come to improve themselves for their own country. The only problem Britain really has from Immigrants is Illegal Immigrants, but every country gets them to some extent and they would be the ones who would slip past any Immigration laws made. Our main drain on taxes at the moment is the unemployed, the lazy arses who cannot be bothered to get a job and claim money for that laziness.

All I know is what I read from a Time magazine.
Is Mr. Clegg truly so popular over in the UK?

Yeah I realise that, they don't have a chance of forming a Government so they do just say lots of things to win what little support they can. Same could be said of a lot of parties though and to a lesser extent the big three, even if they do lie a bit to gain some votes here and there - a party is something I would want to align myself with due to similar views and overriding ideologies. If that means I'm a UKIP supporter at the core, then so be it.

The BNP got over 500,000 votes. Far too many.

The only good thing (in my opinion - I voted Lib Dem) to come out of this election is that Clegg has come forward in support of Cameron so at least we get Labour out. I reckon a Tory/Lib Dem split parliament could be an interesting concept, although there are more than a few people (29% of them, apparently) who'll disagree with me on that.
I actually agree although I do not support the Tory party I do not see Gordon Brown as being fit to lead.

The hung parliament and poor lib dem turnout is very dissapointing, but our terrible Tory Mp, Mr Heath coat amory was finally replaced by a lib dem who actually does her job. He refused to come to a debate with our 6th form, because he felt the BNP candidate should have been invited. Im so glad hes finally got his withered hands off our seat.

Very disappointed the Lib Dems didn't get more seats. I held out the hope that Cleggmania would mean more votes in the ballot box, but, easy come, easy go it seems.

I reckon the Lib Dems best option now is to see what the other two parties could offer in compromise. It's gonna be a long road...

Also, very sad i'm still living in a tory constituency.

I just hope the Lib Dems don't cosy up to the conservatives...does anyone know where to go for seat by seat results?

EDIT: Fine, found it...Lib Dems got in in my constituency, as hoped and expected, but it was close, only 2000 more than the conservatives. Hooray for Andrew George.

(Oh my favourite part of the election. Jacqui Smith - the former Home Secretary loses her seat because her husband watched pay per view porn and wrote it on her MP expenses, thus making her position untenable. Hope he was into the rough stuff cos shes gonna kick his arse all over the place.)
Raise you Bob "Barking" Bailey being kicked out of the elections for scrapping on the streets ;)

Well it's certainly an interesting result. However no UKIP and no BNP means I will sleep soundly tonight.

1.9% of the population voted BNP. That's an utter disgrace.
