When did Clegg say that? sorry must of missed it. I thought that what is being made a big thing of is the fact that days ago he said that if it came to a hung parliament that his party would listen to the party with the most seats first. Unless the Tories make an offer that allows members of the Liberal Democrats to be part of the cabinet then it is unlikely that they will agree, also there are very big issues such as Defence, Immigration and Education that the two parties have very different views on.Simalacrum said:I'm not really happy with the results... particularly with the fact that Liberal Democrats have pretty much confirmed that they will be forming a coalition government with Conservatives...

i think that you forgot that it used to be Liberals/Torys and before that it was Torys/whigs. the Left wing is so splintered(Labour, Libdems, Greens, REPECT and the BNP(for everyone who thinks thier Right wing i suggest you look at thier policies and see the Socialism)) the right wing has only got UKIP and the Conservatives. i smell the begining's of another change in scenery on the left side.Liberaliter said:Why are you surprised and/or shocked?Embz said:If the conservatives get into power I'm emigrating
The British political cycle is Labour,Tory,Labour,Tory etc etc, taking it in turns to be the same and boring.
It is known for, apart from the anti-EU and immigration policies, populist policies. In other words, policies that they believe everyone will like. All it solidly has are the EU and immigration policies.Liberaliter said:I happen to like some of their policies. My main difference to UKIP's policies is immigration, I say we let everyone and anyone in.
Yeah I'm not saying I like how it is now, I would much prefer some new parties in with a different electoral system.vallorn said:i think that you forgot that it used to be Liberals/Torys and before that it was Torys/whigs. the Left wing is so splintered(Labour, Libdems, Greens, REPECT and the BNP(for everyone who thinks thier Right wing i suggest you look at thier policies and see the Socialism)) the right wing has only got UKIP and the Conservatives. i smell the begining's of another change in scenery on the left side.Liberaliter said:Why are you surprised and/or shocked?Embz said:If the conservatives get into power I'm emigrating

on that basis i predict that within 20 year it will be Conservatives/LibDems.
and we are called the Right wing for a reason... (badumtish)
You do realise that most immigrants also pay taxes. If we cut down on all immigration the UK would lose many hard workers or students who have come to improve themselves for their own country. The only problem Britain really has from Immigrants is Illegal Immigrants, but every country gets them to some extent and they would be the ones who would slip past any Immigration laws made. Our main drain on taxes at the moment is the unemployed, the lazy arses who cannot be bothered to get a job and claim money for that laziness.l0rD ChUcKl3s said:let everyone and anyone in? are you insane? if a country has no control over immigration it just falls apart, we would become the country all immigrants went to because they know they just can, hence we would become over populated and since the tax payer has to pay for there houses we would lose money that goes to more important causes such as helping old people pay there electricity and gas bills so that they dont freeze to death in the winter.
Yeah I realise that, they don't have a chance of forming a Government so they do just say lots of things to win what little support they can. Same could be said of a lot of parties though and to a lesser extent the big three, even if they do lie a bit to gain some votes here and there - a party is something I would want to align myself with due to similar views and overriding ideologies. If that means I'm a UKIP supporter at the core, then so be it.Lord Mountbatten Reborn said:It is known for, apart from the anti-EU and immigration policies, populist policies. The BNP got over 500,000 votes. Far too many.l0rD ChUcKl3s said:i wish lib dem got in, there right about the fact that i should proportional our democratic proces should be like the Americans, proportional vote of all parties then a vote between the top two, that way UKIP and BNP who got around 916,000 and 160,000 votes respectavly would actualy get some seats whilst still stoping a hung parliment
I actually agree although I do not support the Tory party I do not see Gordon Brown as being fit to lead.Grouchy Imp said:*grumble grumble*
The only good thing (in my opinion - I voted Lib Dem) to come out of this election is that Clegg has come forward in support of Cameron so at least we get Labour out. I reckon a Tory/Lib Dem split parliament could be an interesting concept, although there are more than a few people (29% of them, apparently) who'll disagree with me on that.

1.9% of the population voted BNP. That's an utter disgrace.Lord Mountbatten Reborn said:The BNP got over 500,000 votes.
