Bah I was born in Sheffield and am currently living in Rotherham. As many of you know, it's a Chav-opolis. Anyone who thinks they have it bad, come to Rotherham and change your opinion. Chavs, bakeries and pound shops. >.>
Come back, it's safer here

I am proud to say that Scotland, may have the worst weather that is possible. I speak not of rain or thunder, as least they would be interesting, no, I speak of gray. Today was gray, occasionly blueish, but mostly the sky was enveloped in a thick shroud of dull.
'Twas grey and miserable down south too today...

well this looks like fun.

I'm from the loveliest little scumhole you'll run into in the midlands: wellingborough.

Scones to go with your tea to anyone who's actually heard of it

Wellingborough? Is that near Kettering?

I'm not from the UK but I do love the location names you have over there. Oh and how you seem smarter than the average American. I kinda wish that I did live there. =.(

Aaah, but what you have to be asking yourself is if we're average, or the cream of the crop. :p

But don't we all think that about our home towns? or is it just they really are?
Anyway, nice surprise to have someone actually have heard of it, normally no-one has (even if they're from the midlands themselves)

I think one of the big newspapers labeled Burton the birthplace of the chav but I forget which one.

I think I was in wellingborough helping my dad deliver a motorbike once. Industrial estates around it I believe.

We do love our strange names. The fun thing is, when we went over to your side a few hundred years back, we gave you some of them, so you could share our pain. Remember - over here it's not "Independence Day". It's "Rebellious Slave Day!"!

See, from our point of view, the people who led your independence rush, were just a bunch of people who didn't want to pay taxes. Not that I in any way share those views. Coughs, straightens tie and glances around nervously.
Luckily for everybody the British Empire is no more, and today's England is no longer trying to rule the world, unfortunately the US is... (and actually we rebelled because of your painfully high taxes that we weren't allowed to argue against{this of course doesn't matter that much to me seeing as my family immigrated later})

Ack. No one should be without their caffeine. Should be a priority.

Of course the taxes weren't optional. But the British Empire, though is welcomely gone, was still quite awesome. That is undeniable.
Of course it was awesome, we owned a HUGE amount of the earth. how could that not be awesome?
