I have British people on my XBL friends list. They do have a strange taste in games. But then again, they also have that asshole who started bitching about Medal of Honor weeks after it was common knowledge that the Taliban was in the game.

Toy Story 3 outsold Starcraft 2 here.
So, yeah.

Interesting how the fps it's hot to bash is the one that has the most recent release. Just wait until Black Ops and Halo will be hailed as some sort of God in comparison.

Well of course it would. Think about it.

Britain is a rather small island group, not a large area to just go driving. America has the midwest I-90 where the police don't really care about speed limits, and the road just goes on forever. Europe's mainland has the Autobahn. Japan has kart games.

Is it really any surprise that a driving game would sell better in Britain?

Unbelieveable. A true shame, but If I had the money I'd change that by buying xbox 360s and Halo: Reach copies for all the homeless, to make their lives truly complete ;)

I think it's a glimmer of hope. F1 2010 is a superb game about the ultimate in high-tech racing and deserves a spot above yet another Halo game.

Well I really don't care that the British like driving really fast over beating up aliens, but its still nice to see people can't get over games that are popular and that they don't like them.

I remember going in to town to get my copy of Dead Rising 2 from GAME and there was pretty big queue... Everyone was asking for copies of F1 2010, they had this huge stack on the counter and one cashier was even telling another to go get another box of copies from the stock room.
Right about that moment I thought I'd crossed over into an alternate reality GAME store, this chart however confirms that it really happened. Weird.

You think that a licensed sports game outselling the newest releases in two critically acclaimed and fairly new IPs combined is a sign of good taste?

Or maybe it's just that there hasn't been an F1 game for three years and that it is quite a popular sport in the UK?

I'd get it if I liked F1 stuff more, don't get me wrong it's awesome and stuff but I prefer rally. And I'm from the US, who'd have thought!

I've played all the halo's cause of friend of mine is a sheep. I can't for the life of me figure out it's appeal. I haven't played reach and don't feel the need to either. Not with MofH coming out soon and Bad Company 2: Vietnam also in the horizon.

Halo has never been as popular here as it is in the States. Its pretty big, but over there its HUUUUUUUUUUGE. Its all CoD, Gears, and sports games there.

I want to get F1 2010 at some point, but I got Dead Rising 2 at the weekend instead. Halo Reach didn't hold my interest too long. I imagine F1 is only at the top due to most people getting Halo last week.

yes, because a multi-platform game outselling a xbox 360 exclusive really means something!
/sarcasm

halo reach was 360 only, and f1 isn't. more platforms = wider amount of possible buyers = more sales, so that means that it doesn't really mean that much.

The English spend their money well.
i also hate it when people refer to british people as english people, it's completely ignorant.

F1 2010 is an abortion. It's a 15-year step back for racing mechanics and AI.
Comparing it to what game? I mean F1 2010 is pretty good from what I've played it. Especially when you have a half decent racing wheel.
