The English spend their money well.
Except that England=/=United Kingdom.

I don't understand why F1 is so popular here. It's a dull sport - And the noise. Not my cup of tea.

this reminds me

when are we going to get another burnout?
with a teamdeathmatchrace mode (people working together to crash the other team while racing)

This is rather strange, but hey, either way Halo still wins overal
What exactly did halo "win" can you elaborate?
The fact that F1 2010's multiplayer can NVER live up to what Halo did in 6 days.
Simply, over a 1000 years.

Oh, and I don't have it, so I'm not biased, but I can't stand F1 games.
Someone on page 1 complained about the fact that it was only YOU that would take damage and get disqualified/penalised and other cars went faster no matter how much better yours was on certain tracks.
I've had that exact thing happen on Forza 3, and it sucked.
I like my racing games to be realistic, but making it realistic and then putting all this anti-player bullshit?
Not on.

Well it is not like F1 2010 was up against much. Halo : Reach was truly milking the last drops of a franchise and Dead Rising 2 is meant to be worse then the first.

I've always liked racing games for some reason though I'm terrible at them...

You're just asking for a flame war, aren't you?

I've never really been a fan of the Halo series (and believe me, I've tried ALL of them, never really got into any) OR of racing games for that matter, so I guess the general british gamer population likes fast cars over shooting little aliens in the head...

This news doesn't really affect me one way or another...

Spoken like someone who really doesn't understand how close and realistic the game is to real racing (this spoken by someone who has real racing experience and can vouch for the level of immersion and improvement in AI when compared to other racing and driving simulations) Also it's no surprise to me considering i study motor sports at university.

Well of course it would. Think about it.

Britain is a rather small island group, not a large area to just go driving. America has the midwest I-90 where the police don't really care about speed limits, and the road just goes on forever. Europe's mainland has the Autobahn. Japan has kart games.

Is it really any surprise that a driving game would sell better in Britain?
Christ, how small do you think Britain is? o_O

We might not have super long highways, but at least the scenery's better and we have more that just straight roads to drive down

Rise my fellow Brits and march into the stores and buy more Reach! Lest the video game developers think that Racing games are better than FPSs! REMEMBER REACH! THIS IS FOR JORGE AND NOBLE 6, my noble 6! Not yours coz mine is better! :p

Just for note I hate any racing game that does not involve a plumber wearing a red hat.

Seriously though, who cares I mean if Microsoft catch wind of this expect them to release Reach on the PC to push their sales up.

IMO most racing games are boring, at least FPSs, Action/Adventure games can make for some fast paced and excited action.

In my opinion F1 2010 is superb. The only flaws being the broken pit stop system and my burning desire for racing simulators to incorporate rules and regulations effectively and not to the point of being overly strict like they already are. It's no surprise to me that a game that has been developed well and hasn't been released to appease the honking and cawing of today's average gamer who feels the need to bludgeon every moving thing with the closest object has outsold said bludgeon fests.

There are a lot of racetracks in Britain. A lot. What do you think they did with all those airfields they had spare after WWII?

Because Formula 1 isn't fast paced or anything...

If I just wanted to drop in and have a mindless race, I already have Forza 3 and Midnight Club. Why have tire wear, pitstop strategy, fuel consumption and R&D parts if the outcome of a race will be up to the algorithms no matter what you do?

Like you said, just drive the laps and shut up, that's the only way I'll have fun with this game.

Good for those onlne, though, must be better against other drivers. At least those people can enjoy it more.
This. But I add: if you genuinely enjoy micromanaging for the sake of micromanaging (since really F1 and NASCAR are boring sports which revolve around micromanaging) I don't see why you'd play a micromanaging game with a bit of racing fluff (F1 2010) over opening a store to make money for less boring games, playing a management game for your management needs or just something less incredibly dull. Less dull like buying Halo:Reach to karate chop in half if you aren't the imaginative sort (note: I do like Halo a little bit and I don't really condone such actions but the destruction of it is worth saving someone from playing F1 2010).
