yes, because a multi-platform game outselling a xbox 360 exclusive really means something!

halo reach was 360 only, and f1 isn't. more platforms = wider amount of possible buyers = more sales, so that means that it doesn't really mean that much.
I don't get this. For Halo fans, when it outsells other games it's "best-selling", yet when it's overtaken, suddenly it doesn't matter, because it's not multiplatform.

I'll say what I already said about Halo's story: you can't have it both ways.

where in my post did i refer myself as a halo fan? i simply stated that the more consoles it is on, the more sales it will make, that's how it works.

Not necessarily. While I worked at Gamestop, we sold Uncharted 2 like it could cure cancer, and it's not multiplatform.

Sometimes, the better game just sells better.

It's a bad day to be British.
I disagree:p

I've never really liked Halo though so I'm a little bias.
You are a little bias?
As in, you are a smaller than average embodiment of the noun bias?
Or are you a little biased?
As in, you have a small amount of bias weighing your argument to one side?

OT: I can't say this is a huge thing for me, I'm not a huge fan of F1, Ded Rising or Halo, so I'm fairly unmoved by any of this.

Gives me hope actually. F1 2010 is the most immersive racing game I've ever played, whereas the design brief for Halo Reach must have literally just been: "Halo 3. With jetpacks."

F1 2010 is an abortion. It's a 15-year step back for racing mechanics and AI.
Comparing it to what game? I mean F1 2010 is pretty good from what I've played it. Especially when you have a half decent racing wheel.
Compared to any game in which the rules are the same for all the cars. In F1 2010, you're the only one who gets damaged, the only one who has a heavy fuel load, the only one that will get DSQ if he doesn't pit. You get penalties for collision when you get hit, illegal blocking when you spin, some tracks make the other cars automatically faster than you no matter what (WTF Catalunya??)

Don't get me wrong, I think the game looks great and I've been waiting for an F1 game for 8 years so the expectations are high. But besides all the bugs, the racing mechanics and design choices are abysmal. It's like Codemasters never made a racing game before, and that can't be true since I've bought almost all of them in the last 12 years.

I'm not the only one on the official forum who feel he's been robbed.
The game's broken, but it's still fun.

Not as fun as Formula One Championship Edition from back in 2007, but still good.

Actually, we British people have terrible taste. You really need to to live here.

But anyway, who actually feels the need to compare the sales of an F1 racing sim game with that of a sci-fi flavoured FPS? As these things really, really matter, of course.

Yeah, fortunately most of those problems don't apply to the multiplayer.

If only it was true worldwide... No, not a Halo fan here (nothing against it, per se. I enjoyed the 1st one a bit)
You say you have nothing against Halo, yet you commend the UK for having good taste in not making Halo as popular as F1?

Really?

Well of course it would. Think about it.

Britain is a rather small island group, not a large area to just go driving. America has the midwest I-90 where the police don't really care about speed limits, and the road just goes on forever. Europe's mainland has the Autobahn. Japan has kart games.

Is it really any surprise that a driving game would sell better in Britain?
Hold on hold on, did you just honestly try to make an argument that driving in the US is more fun than driving in Britain? Come back when you learn what a corner is please... ;)

On a serious note I can see why this sold a lot better in the UK than the US, considering the UK is in general much more into the actual sport of F1 than the US is, I myself am a huge fan and know quite a few other fans in the UK, but none from the US, that being said it would be interesting to see how this game sold in Italy. :p
