Well of course it would. Think about it.

Britain is a rather small island group, not a large area to just go driving. America has the midwest I-90 where the police don't really care about speed limits, and the road just goes on forever. Europe's mainland has the Autobahn. Japan has kart games.

Is it really any surprise that a driving game would sell better in Britain?
Hold on hold on, did you just honestly try to make an argument that driving in the US is more fun than driving in Britain? Come back when you learn what a corner is please... ;)

On a serious note I can see why this sold a lot better in the UK than the US, considering the UK is in general much more into the actual sport of F1 than the US is, I myself am a huge fan and know quite a few other fans in the UK, but none from the US, that being said it would be interesting to see how this game sold in Italy. :p
@ Johnyallstar: I lol'd at this :) Two important things to remember.

1) We have corners on our roads. Therefore cars produced here (and the rest of Europe) are generally built with this in mind. That's why any European production sportscar on the market will wipe the floor with any American production sportscar 99 times out of a hundred.

2) Most of Europe is within easier driving distance of the Autobahn than most of the US is to I-90 I would think. The Alps, the Pyrenees, the Cairngorms, the Isle of Man are all fun to drive too.

Our cars are more fun and so are our roads. No surprise then that F1, and motor racing in general has a bigger following in Europe, not just the UK.

@ Pandora92: Having seen pubs in Italy fill up with the sort of crowds to watch F1 on the TV as you would associate with a Champions League final in the UK, and an even greater level of passion from the Tifosa I'm going to hazard a guess that it sold in buckets.

The game is pretty flawed at the moment, but there are workarounds for most of the issues, and Codemasters have promised a patch. That said, it's still a bloody brilliant F1 game.
