Wow a lot of people who jizzed when they bought Halo Reach are apparently rather upset that I think F1 2010 is in higher taste than Halo Reach.

F1 2010 on the other hand, well guess what. There hasn't been an F1 game in 6 years! Dissing the game for being a racing game is rather stupid, by the way, as it can take far more skill, endurance, patience, and composure to win a race in F1 2010 than to beat the entire Halo Reach campaign. I say this because 55 laps around Monaco is FUCKING HARD. Now, you certainly don't need to go that far, I've been playing 30% race length so it's more like 15-17 laps, but it's still very tough.

They also definitely raised the bar for racing game immersion. You have interviews. You do practice, qualifying, and race day. There's dynamic weather which truely affects the race. You can be fired from your team, or hired by others. There's R&D objectives for small upgrades. The track gets rubbered over the course of the weekend and gets grippier. You have fuel weight, so your car is faster by the end of the race than at the start. Tires wear and can pop. All kinds of stuff that's either innovative or far refined over what any racing game has given in the past.
First, I did not buy Reach...yet...first I buy Metro 2033 if my gaming shop finaly gets it, sells like hot cake he tells me.
Second: Some people don´t like racing games...
That does not have to do with the skill being required to win them, some people just watch F1 for the crashes.
I do...
Does this mean I have bad taste? Well tell you what, people who like DaVinci over Michelangelo have discussed the same things, so I´m not gonna start another one. Let me just say that your opinion is yours, it does not have to be true...
Third: you compare an ARCADE SHOOTER to a RACING SIMULATION, and tell us all that this Racing Simulation give us is "inovative"...fuck it isnt, weather, team management, practice, qualifying and the actual race, tirewear, fuelweight, realistic behaviors, it has all been there before. In other RACING SIMULATIONS. But surely, if you aren´t a fan of F1 in the first place, this game will make you watch it<.<
Or was it the other way around, if you aren´t a fan of F-1, you won´t buy it?
I totally keep getting these mixed up /sarcasm
Sure a racing game can be realistic, challenging, fun, as can a shooter, but if you don´t like racing simulations of boring racing events you already don´t like, and you tell them their opinion is STUPID then FUCK YOU! You didn´t get it!
They don´t like racing games, what is there too argue?
They don´t dislike racing games because they like shooter games, that´s for sure.
It is like discussing about people whos favorite color is blue have better taste then those, who say it´s green.
The field of Simulation is rather small in it self. The complexity just drives some people off...If you don´t understand that, no amount of laps in monaco, singapure, Nürburgring or whatever can change our mind. It´ll probably bore us more.
Get it? Adding MORE RACING GAME to a RACING GAME does not equal more fun for people who DONT LIKE RACING GAMES!
It´s like you said: "Halo: Reach is simply more Halo", F-1 2010 is simply more racing game, is that your point? If it is, that is a stupid one.
It´s like people liking rugby over soccer, or ManU over London, or what ever...it is the SAME FUCKING PRINCIPLE!
People have different tastes...some people like ramming 18 inch Dildos up their ass, that does not dismiss their taste as bad, stupid or wrong, it just isn´t the majority.
