People who hate Mass Effect simply because of the gameplay. Granted, it's not the greatest but it's not the point. Not in my opinion anyway.
That's a valid reason to hate any game.
He has you there. If you play mass effect for it's "compelling story" or "amazing graphics" I suggest you start watching more films. They have perfect graphics and excellent stories or maybe you could read books?
It's a game. Hating it for the gameplay is the best possible reason to hate it!

Despite the fact that I like them, I think having Organization XIII instead of more Disney villains misses the point.
the organization XIII is better than most Disney villains

OT: One of the three people in my main Monster Hunter-ing group, constantly wants us to rush through the HR ranks to get to the 'best' and biggest monsters, telling me not to bother wasting time putting together something like the Gigginox gear that I want because we can just kill double Royal Ludroths over and over to get our ranks up fast and get to +rank because the armor is better anyway.
Now that we are at +rank all he is concerned about is getting us to do Jhen Moran+ or Deviljhoe.

im gonna go with achievement grinding servers, tf2 specifically, i mean that removes the whole point of trying to "achieve" something, its in the title for crying out loud!

tho thats died down a lot since the "random drop" thing came in

I found that many people who played Crysis and scoffed it off as nothing more than a tech demo where people who used stealth for about 90% of the game. That's just being lazy and completely wasting the potential of the nanosuit.

Yes it's easier to stealth through and predator your way through the game, but you completely miss the purpose of the suit as a tool/weapon. The open level design coupled with the versatility of the suit allows for a ton of tactical and fun approaches to enemies and objectives, using only one convenient power lessens the fun factor of the game and you only have your own laziness to blame.

I've played through the game at least a half dozen times and each playthrough has been dramatically different every time because I make differnet use of the tools I'm given. The game is as fun as you make it to be, it doesn't take the easy rout and just hand you the fun like so many games do (not that it's a bad thing).
You nailed this one! I'm still replaying Crysis and Crysis Warhead because it's so fun to experiment with the suit, trying different approaches and tactics, and generally just having fun.

Shooting a branch off a tree and then sneaking around using it as a club never gets old, but neither does throwing chickens at targets, or sneaking up to a sniper tower and blowing it sky high with C4, or lighting a red barrel on fire and then tossing it across the map into a bunch of enemies in time for it to explode!

Just have fun with it, there's always something new to try out!

People who boost for rankings in any game. Doesn't that take out the fun?
Maybe they find it fun, but the bigger problem, I think, is when they go against people who actually fucking EARNED their rank. Then they get the shit beat outta them.

For me it seems everyone missed the point of the south park episode where they were just rehashing old jokes, and everyone complained that they didn't show Mohammad(sp?), but it seemed to me like that was the joke. If you want proof, then ask yourself, why was the entire end of episode speech censered? It's not like the entire speech was them saying Mohammad, was it?

I actually thought it was a joke at first too, simply because the level of censorship was too ridiculously over the top to be serious. Clearly, Comedy Central have no sense of irony >_>

But then why was Tom Cruise censored when he got the Mohammad goo? It just doesn't really make sense unless it was a joke.

The censorship of the image of Mohammed was a joke. The bleeping of his name and the speeches at the end was not.

A meta-example (I've gone through three times in the last month); a friend and I were playing Halo 2 at another friend's house; we were playing it split screen, and having fun doing it. Guy who owned the Xbox said, "Hey, why don't you play online, it's great!" So we did. "We didn't like it" would be a bit of an understatement; Mike walked away about five minutes in, Zeb stopped playing five minutes after that. I went for a second round, but quit halfway through.

Now what bothered me was they didn't seem to be enjoying playing, but were playing the game for the sake of playing the game. Then again, there's a good chance I completely missed the point, and all it is is a giant dick waving contest.

Apologies to Halo fans, but I liked Metroid Prime better anyway.

I say he's exclusive to James because he saw that painting and it creeped him out, that's what gave his guilt the shape of the silent hill executioner. If they had even given the other characters some bullshit reason for it but they don't. He just inexplicably appears "HEY LOOK AT ME I HAVE NO REASON TO BE HERE".
Um...no. James saw the painting loooong after Pyramid Head started showing up. Your argument's going to carry a lot more water if you play the game again to refresh your memory.
Actually, he almost certainly saw the painting beforehand, when he and his wife visited the town in the past. He developed an interest/obsession with Silent Hill's history, which most likely took him to the Historical Society at some point during his previous visit, long before the events of the game. Hence, Pyramid Head's shape. Pyramid Head's role is that of judge, jury and (if necessary) executioner, much like the figure in the painting. Hence, James probably just blocked the image out, or forgot about it and it simply lurked in his subconscious. I will, however, say that the game could have made this a lot clearer.
