I've been stomped by some of the top players in Metal Gear Online, played hacked games of Call of Duty, been invaded in Dark Souls by level 1 players dressed head to toe with rare armor, and endured entire campaigns on Left 4 Dead with shitty teammates, but none of those are near as stressful as playing a single 10 minute match in Uncharted 3. I don't usually rage in games, but Uncharted is different.
You know how in most multiplayer games you start out kind of awful but gradually get better? Well Uncharted 3 is like that except the second part never happens. If you suck in your first match you will always suck. One way I can describe it is that it's like the game was designed exclusively for hardcore pub players and does everything in it's power to turn off casual gamers who just want to have a good time.
Usually I'd just write the game off and move on but despite getting owned by a clans of lifers every match, I still genuinely enjoy the game. It's colorful, has a sense of humor about itself, the maps are great, and I love the freedom of movement it gives you. This might sound like a puzzling statement but it's the game I wish Brink would have been. It could really be one of my top multiplayer games of all time if it weren't for the thick slimy layer of bullshit on top, something that could be fixed with a few patches but unfortunately it seems naughty Dog is starting to encourage this bullshit, releasing tutorial videos on how to get even more cheap kills.
What really breaks my heart about this game the most is that naughty Dog has seemingly stopped supporting the co-op aspect, the only place where I'm safe from players rolling around and blindfiring me to death. The recent patch full of new items and features is exclusively for competitive multiplayer and when asked if they had any more plans for co-op they said no.
Sorry for the rant but I needed to vent.
