Most of the kids on xbl only have about 2 seconds to yell racial slurs before I mute all of them and file a complaint about how they abused my rights.

Combat Arms has about a million of these kids. I finally gave it up after almost 2 years of patience, but it had to be done. Long story short, it was the only decent shooter my computer could run with multiplayer, so I settled for it, when it was really just terrible.

Something about taking a free shooter, giving people the ability to buy hilariously overpowered weapons with real money, and having a pathetic hack detection software allowed for possibly the largest breeding ground of the "squeekers" that I have ever witnessed.

Nothing is quite as annoying/funny as a kid who borrows his mom's credit card to buy a minigun, a special character that can run 1.5x faster than everyone else, and legit chams, and then claim that it is only his "Skill" that beats you. Although my best moment would have to be one who claimed his dad owned the company that made the game, and that if we didnt let him kill us, we would be banned. The entire room proceeded to laugh at him, hunt him down, and at one point, mass teabag him. Yes this is normally unexcusable, but if you heard this kid you would understand why.

All this being said, I've met several kids online who were not only good sports, but incredibly good players and teammates. There was an 11 year old in one of my clans who, I kid you not, was one of the best clan leaders I've ever met. Not only was he really good, but he was really chill and knew how to get a clan running right. Even though he sounded like he was always on helium, he was more mature than most guys twice his age.

...or something. God, I'd hate to use Xbox Live if all the stories are true.
The horror stories are highly exaggerated (in quantity, if not obnoxiousness). I'm not a huge user of XBL (I average something like 1-3 hours a week), but I use it fairly regularly and I've seen a total of one of them since the service started.

No stories stick out in my mind in particular, though I take great pride in talking XBL "squeekers" back into the corner they crawled out of. It's cathartic.

I was playing TF2 once and I found this really helpful kid who must have been 12-14 judging by his voice who dared utter the words "Watch out Spy!" before he was shouted down by the entire server for daring to speak on the mic before his voice had fully developed. The Spy was me, he was the only one paying attention to spies on their team. They received no more warnings of spies. I ended the round with close to my record number for backstabs.

I'm sorry, was that the wrong kind of funny story?

I have my ways of dealing with them. If they're not extremely annoying then I'll leave them be and maybe turn my mic down, if they won't goddamn shut up then I make life hard for them, sometimes I'll betray and teabag them until they get me booted.

It's worth it to hear them scream though.

You've never played Counter Strike: Source before? Live is a haven of acceptance and intelligence compared to some of the servers I've played CSS on. Large public servers too, not the small private ones.

On topic: Eh, I'm too lazy to plug a headset in, but I troll people on MW2 by playing like a dick. If there are annoying 12 year olds that don't shut the fuck up, I use Marathon, Lightweight and Commando with a Tac Knife on the medium maps, or if I'm playing a small map, the Riot Shield, RPG, Claymore, Scavenger, Danger Close and Commando. I then proceed to target the little kids as much as possible until they start raging about me. I find their whining highly amusing.

Only once, when I let one if my friends have my mic (bad move, in retrospect) we were playing Halo 3 and we heard a kid who sounded, at best 8 or so. My friend asked "how old are you, kid?"
He responded with a cocky "old enough to play this game and old enough to make you cry to your mommies"

We laughed our asses off for a good 10 minutes.

Ooooooo I got one. A 10 year old kid was trying to argue that he had sex with a 23 year old that went to his school.....My reply "......Who the fuck are you and why are you in my xbox party?"

Oh god, not CS:S that place is a harbor of racist, homophobic, childish, intolerant, eleven year olds. But honestly Xbox is MUCH worse, I have found people who literally TRY to piss me off. Example on Red Dead Redemption: Ok guys lets not have a spawn killing match for free roam, Everyone "Okay!". 20 seconds later;spawn killed for the 7th time, me "The fuck man, we agreed" him "Oh no, you're dead, oh I'm so sorry" Then he did the same like 4 times. Now I control his xbox account with his families credit cards on the account, Oh, a sword a damocleus has never seemed so sharp.

I mute everyone as fast as possible, but it is true.
They complain games cause violance, and all these bad things, but they dont inforce it one bit
I belive children shouldnt play 18 and older games, weather theyer parents purchase them or not. And i honestly think this should be enforced.
Im only 19, and i think this. Because its something that needs to be done before things really get out of hand.

I dont care that kids play games online, i dont care if theyer 12, 15, or 17. The problem is that theyer playing adult games, with adult themes.
Well since it is impossible to gauge every child or teen's level of maturity i think it should be up to the parents. Society just needs to encourage them to be parents and informed ones.

Ran into a few myself, but they're so fun. There is nothing funnier than making a young child rage on a video game.
I literally had a kid throw a tantrum one day because my friends and I kept picking on him, it was lawl-worthy.

I seem to only run into these youngin's on the new popular games, like MW2. I surprisingly have not run into ONE underaged kid on Halo:Reach yet.

I haven't heard a squeaky voice since I quit MW2 actually...
Same here. For some reason there aren't much of the little kids on Reach. Unless I'm just really lucky.

Either way, score!

OT: Yeah, they're mostly true. No doubt some embellish the truth a bit, but they only seem to do so by a little.

But I can take it, I've played Counter Strike Source.

I had a guy that I think was at least 16+, his voice was mature, but he wasn't... I was playing invasion on Halo: Reach with him as my battle buddy, god it was annoying. He didn't stop talking the whole match... both rounds. He would always yell at everyone why they didn't kill the 3 enemies while they were by themselves. He had 2 favorite lines, it was either "NOOOOOOOOOOOO, KILL THEM, HOW HARD IS IT?!" or "You guys are f***ing pu$$ies, defend/attack the objective!" It was hilarious how he was only like the 5th best guy on our team of 6... I took out the scorpion and got at least a killing spree with it (not too hard but almost a frenzy and stop the core a couple times) but he complained when I died after getting hit with the plasma launcher with a banshee attacking me (killed it when I died). He called me a noob and worthless for that when I was #1 on our team and #2 in the game (objective and kill wise). I saw him get in the tank and die instantly. Guess what he did... Yea, you might have guessed it, he blamed everyone for not killing the banshee when he took the spartan laser AND the rocket launcher (saw him do it before he got the tank). I, myself of 20 years, do play with my younger cousin and a couple his friends (about 13/14 years of age) and we actually do somewhat well unless even against groups that seem like they are pro by the way they play. The only thing that matters is how to act, you can be silly, but don't be immature or a douche, which most people are on XBL.
