Underrated weapons/attachments

The subject is pretty simple. In online multiplayer what weapons in FPS seem to be underrated?

I've always found that the shotgun attachment for assault rifles in Modern Warfare 2 is awesome. It has two less pelets compared to the spas, but is quicker to swich to and has the longest rang of any shotgun. The attachment compensates for my Famas being usless at closs rang. It also lets my have either a launcher or pistol with a tatical knife for my secondy.

In CoD4 the Skorpion with an Acog Scope. The Skorpion has no recoil through in Stopping power and Deep impact then you have your self a full automatic sniper.

not really an attachment but from Operation FlashPoint. 50.cal with a proper thermal sight. AKA it shows heat as white and cold as black. none of this COD stuff where the snow is apparently at the same temperature as a man

or laser designator linked to a: AC130, AH64, RAH66, f35, etc...

Underrated? Idk... I don't think a lot of weapons/attachments in the games I play are. No matter where I go there is a wide selection of weapons used by players in Mw2. I think the sniper in that game is a bit over-rated tho, there is a ridiculous amount of snipers! Same goes for BF2, BC2 and many others. Sure, snipers are cool, but you can never be that cool sniper. So why not try all the awesome and interesting combinations these games allow, instead of being bland and boring?

I always found that amusing, how in warm places it is easier to see people than in cold places XD. I laugh at you CoD!

The Backburner in TF2, I'd say. It takes a little bit more skill to use properly than the regular flamethrower, and you can't deflect rockets when it needs done, but it's a great weapon as long as you know what you're doing.

On that subject, the Flare gun from TF2. I don't think a lot of people understand that as a Pyro, you should crave the ASSIST, not the kill, and the Flare Gun is the perfect thing to get the job done.

well for underrated I would say the Desert Eagle in MW2 everyone says its just a crappy .44 magnum. but you throw a tac knife on that gun and its awesome to use.

Overrated is the FMJ attachment. it shoots through walls! so do all the guns w/o it.

Ditto on that. It's a great weapon to put players off their game. Throwing successive flare gun crits on Heavies or Snipers are really awesome, hehehe.

It really lacks damage though...

Uh, the G3 in BFBC2. It has plenty of recoil and an awful sight, but it looks so cool...

This is true. Their ability to go through three to four zombies at once is brilliant, but no one goes for them; all I see being used are boomsticks.

I rarely see soldiers use the buff banner - even in large game where it can cause a steamroll. No idea why.

And on that note, the soldier's shotgun is ridiculously good. ou don't see soldiers switch to it often.

Shooters need more bayonets dammit! Enough with that silly modern-day knifing, either give us the old CS style knife back, stick with Halo's quick rifle butting or give us a bayonet for some real stabbidy-stab goodness.

As a Sniper, I can second this. We absolutely detest the flare gun. It doesn't kill us, but does make us neigh useless for a short while. And as we all know, a short while can be very critical in TF2.

Splatter effects eh. Plus the BOOM click-clack is just so satisfying, just like using a bolt action rifle. It feel so delightfully manual, rugged. I often just not switch to one of the auto shotties (though I do like the SPAS) just to keep that pump-action goodness.

For MW2: damned quick-scopers and general rewarding of camping.

For BC2: as described above, that awfully good feeling a bolt action rifle gives you. Especially in BC2 as it has some of the best sound effects I ever heard in a game. An ear deafening BOOM followed by that yummy, metallic chinkchink-*****. And seeing your bullet fly, even though I guess that's not that realistic on such distances, while you're still watching and, if you're good, landing right in the head of an unsuspecting opponent (or even better, a suspecting one) is sooooooo delightful.

Saywhat?! Those guns overrated?! What happened to MW2 since BC2 came out? When I stilled played, the M16 was often referred to as 'that OP noobcannon' and the TAR often lauded as one of the best rifles in the game (an opinion I, at the time, supported, even when I switched to a different weapon).
