the smoke launcher in bfbc, no-one uses it and is so good for taking points, no-one can see you.
I have to second this, especially in maps like Arica Harbor, which has lots of long ranges. There is no better defence against a Recon than a smoke grenade.

On the other hand, the destructive advantages the grenade launcher gives you are so massive that I'd rather take the sniping risk and just make sure I get proper cover. I have especially played Arica Harbor enough to know where I can find anti-sniper shelter even when capturing points.

The MP-412 REX from BC2. So much power, slightly offset by a magazine capacity of only 6 bullets. Also any of the pump action shotguns+slugs.
Seconded on the slugs, dear gods they're lethal. As for the REX, I'd rather stick with the M1911. It has only a bit less power than the REX but shoots faster, has a slightly larger magazine (one bullet, but I've seen that make the difference more than enough) and is more accurate.

I seem to be the only person on Bad Company 2 who uses the 40mm shotgun, and prefers it to the grenade launcher. Ever since I scored a double kill through one enemy and into another when going up a staircase with it, I never looked back.
I can see what you mean, but the 40MM is such an incredibly hot anti-camper tool. I've blown up so many people with it that thought they were safe in a building. It's an awesome deterrent too and a great entrée-weapon; you walk up to the building, shoot in a grenade and enter with your rifle. Anyone who's wounded (as explosives aren't as omgwtfbbq as in MW2) will be a lot easier to take down.

COD6, Grenade Launcher. LOL I have a flame shield on for the inevitable onslaught.
Haha. It isn't just not funny, it has also been done before and is plain wrong. It isn't underrated at all. It's massively overpowered destructive force is widely known.

Agreed on everything, especially on the BB. I just cannot trade in the immense advantage the airblast gives you. It's so incredibly versatile. You haven't even mentioned juggling with it yet, it makes someone with an uber, especially Heavies, neigh useless.

However I do question you saying that the Huntsman is noobish. I don't see it doing what the other weapons are doing; offering training wheels for bad players. Unlike with the FaN you won't see a crappy Sniper suddenly do well with a Huntsman. Not only is it quite difficult to master, it in no way replaces the rifle. What it does is make Snipers more useful on the frontline (though I still use the rifle there, I just love it too much) and it rather sucks where the rifle excels; long range. Neither is it as deadly accurate as rifle.

However, I do agree with complaints that the arrow is just too big. I mean, it has like, a bigger hitbox than a rocket or something, that's just silly. I once got a reflect headshot with it though, so satisfying.

The Backburner in TF2, I'd say. It takes a little bit more skill to use properly than the regular flamethrower, and you can't deflect rockets when it needs done, but it's a great weapon as long as you know what you're doing.
..............................What?

The backburner is the "noob" weapon for the Pyro. It's to the Pyro like the Huntsman is to the Sniper and the FaN is to the Scout: training wheels. It's W+M1 exclusive. It comes with no meaningful advantage AT ALL over the flamethrower and rather crippling disadvantages. If you're any kind of half-decent Pyro there's only 1 option, and that's the flamethrower.

@OP: Natascha in TF2. Particularly in Scout-intensive matchups, one Heavy with the Natascha forces everyone to run for cover. Sasha does more damage, but Natascha will freeze you in place... By far one of the weapons I most hate to fight against for what it can do.
How dare you. I would literally kill for some new weapons on the consoles, and now you make-a me cry.

I too rarely use the Buff Banner, maybe I should seeing as I have 3 of them ¬_¬

I think people dont use them cos you need to accumulate 600 damage before you can use it, and a lot of people cant stay alive long enough.

I agree about the shotgun though, it's great. Really useful for finishing enemies who you've wounded with the launcher who are trying to run away, or if you run out of rockets a quick blast from the shotty will end the job :D

<3 the Soldier.
I'd use the Buff Banner, but I crafted it away with most of my other items for a few awesome hats.

On the topic of TF2, I don't think many people understand how good the Bonk soda is. Its so satisfying to jump above a sentry and then getting launched right next to some pesky sniper.

A really good combination in BC2, is automatic-shotgun medic. Fill your enemy with as many holes as needed, then revive anyone they killed.
