Understandably upset about the vita

So i got the launch 350$ vita with the game and 4gb card.

What a waste of money, My grammar is bad so if you get upset at that go ahead and not read this message.

So i bought the pack yesterday and found out they didn't offer unlimited data, the reason is obvious why I wanted unlimited, I like watching netflix and playing games on the go, So i was understandably upset when I found they didn't offer unlimited data. I was also misinformed and was told that it could be used as a phone, but I'm not seeing anything about that, just 3g gaming.

Here is what I EASILY could have done.

250$ - 50$ memory unit 16GB enough to hold all my music and all my digital movie copies. + like 3 games. Which I wouldn't even put all my music and movies on there so like a lot more.

3 games I could have bought actually 4 since I bought katamari.

I know this is just stupidity on my part but I SERIOUSLY want to go return this, get the 250$ one and get my damn money back because I feel like I wasted all that money, and now I won't be able to get the memory unit for awhile, and I won't be able to get any more games for awhile.

Also I'll always have that stupid little AT&T symbol in the corner of my menus which pisses me off.

Not sure what you even mean by unlimited data.

An unlimited data plan so he can download as much as he wants, rather than a finite capped data plan, where he can effectively "run out."

But then, that goes back to the "failure to do research" thing, as AT&T has eliminated all their unlimited data plans to the best of my knowledge.

Caveat Emptor. Let the buyer beware. If you failed to research the features of the Vita, its your fault not Sony's. I don't remember any news/press releases/etc. that are recent that state it was a phone. Prior news releases (at the announcement a year or so ago) said it "might" be a phone. Nothing since has said otherwise therefore its no surprise its NOT.

Wifi 3g is all I heard and I'm not 100% interested in it for that. Also you're the idiot for buying a product at launch and expecting a ton of new things to play with when its LAUNCH DAY for a console (handheld or not). Past experience should have taught you that LAUNCH DAY always sucks and you should wait a few months for more products to be released and bugs to be worked out.
So no sympathy for you.

I didn't do research because someone TOLD me about it and I made the mistake of taking what he said to be true. He also said that he was going to get unlimited which made me think that it has unlimited.

Pretty dick move if you try to rub it in my face. But you can say anything on the internet these days without any problems coming back to you right?

I sadly have to admit I agree with the unsympathetic people here. If you don't research anything about a product before you buy it, it's your own fault if it doesn't turn out like you expected it too. Seriously, Wikipedia could have given you sufficient information here.

You messed up, you didn't do the research and dropped over $300 on something you now realise you didn't want. That's plenty grounds for a scalding. So contrary to your title, you are not understandably upset about the Vita itself. You're understandably upset about your own incompetence.
EDIT: We do see your point of view. We've all messed up one time or another. And we've all deserved our subsequent mocking.

To add a bit more to the discussion value, I am interested in the Vita, but will wait for the game library to flesh out more. I'm still not entirely sure which direction it will ultimately take in the long run, a more casual format or if it will stick to it's more 'hardcore' PS3 fanbase.

I didn't ask to be beaten up and insulted, when people insult me I insult back, I do it IRL too. I didn't even ask for sympathy, I wanted people to more or less talk about mistakes they made in their life.

A P4 remake release in the future was enough to get me to look into it man. It was more of less my friends fault, I don't usually read the news about any games or gaming systems, i told him to tell me everything he knew about it and he was wrong about most everything he told me, which taught me a valuable lesson

Someone told you that Vita had these functions that you wanted, when it did not you get upset at the Vita and Sony because the Vita did not have the desired functions? You shouldn't be upset with the Vita nor Sony. You should be annoyed that someone told you something that wasn't true. You did not second guess the credibility of what you were told, you did not do proper research. Thus it is your fault that you ended up being disappointed. Sure it sucks, but don't blame the Vita or Sony for not providing what they never actually claimed they'd provide.
