Finding the gnome in L4D2, just because I hate him soooo much! After carrying him all the way through HL2:E2.

In Assassins Creed II when:

You stab that guy whose name I forget, and then when Ezio asks him where his dad is, his response is basically "Fuck off, you stabbed me". I like to think they were poking fun at the elaborate speeches of the first game.

Dragon Ball Raging Blast actually being more enjoyable than just about anything I've played this year.

That includes high profile games btw.
I've had a co-worker plug the shit out of that game to me. I really hated the Tenkaichi games and I think Budokai 3 was DBZs best game. Would I like Raging Blast?

Dragon Age:

Alistair is the rightful heir to the throne of Ferelden. Why did not he tell us? Well, we never asked, did we? I laughed so hard at this point. Gooood times.

I'd say crackdown as a whole was a surprise to me, I only really bought it for the Halo 3 beta, but god damn what a game in the end.

Living on a prayer for a sequel personally
You need to be shot...

When I found out where he was,how easy it was to get him and that he had to be on the fecking copter...

Watching Reddin die and a bus explode and a Behemoth come out of the wall...the cart trap outside of Jury St that made a Behemoth come...

Wipeout HD. I was surprised because I did not know what I was missing all these years. And because there are trophies that actually require skill. Other surprises include:

Shadow Of The Colossus: Before I got to the Colosi with the giant stick on a giant platform, the damn thing was lifeless and looked like a castle! I was surprised when the castle started moving. Also, the underground colosi where I had to grab from his beard. Me and my bro laughed our asses off.

Tekken 5: found an excelent combo for Paul. Neutron Bomb, Circle and then that new shoulder strike.

Uncharted: the final boss was laaaaaame.

RE4: mine darts. Nuff said.

OK, now I'm just going to leave the ship and HOLY FUCK I CAN HAVE SEX!?
This was pretty much a WTF moment for me too.

Also The Witcher had some questionable moments...

The fact that Brutal Legend is actually fun. I bought it preparing for the worst, but to my surprise it was actually great. I will never doubt Tim Schafer again.

Jade Empire's end. I was so used to Bioware's games being 30+ hour affairs that when I finished the last fight I thought "Okay, one simple twist taken care of where's the next one? Why are the credits running?" Then the voice-over jokes kicked in. A mixed bag to be sure.

You wouldn't because it plays a lot like the Tenakichi games in terms of combos. The only real thing changed is that all the specials are on the right analogue stick now as opposed to button presses.

I've been playing the 3D DBZ games since the original Budokai and have almost always found them fun. The only exception being in BT3 where its mostly a copy paste job from the amazing BT2.

"It's a me, Mario!" in Assassin's Creed 2, really wasn't expecting that line, it caught me completely off-guard and I burst out laughing.
I couldn't believe he'd said that when I heard it! I was flabberghasted (if that's how to spell it).

Perfect Dark's cheese finding was always a blast.

The most recent one though would probably be all the damn mods for oblivion.
