Quantam Of Solace, the sequel to an amazing bond reboot, was just... stupidly unfocussed.

The Golden Compass still sticks out in my mind for shear volume of wasted potential.
This as well, I can't believe they renamed it :S ITS NOT A COMPASS ITS AN ALETHIOMETER AND I DON'T CARE IF IT LOOKS LIKE ONE

EDIT:This isn't the only gripe I had about it but the rest is standard affair stuff when you convert a book to a film -.-
Actually the name of the movie is because a bad translation from English To English. Released in England as Northern Lights, then it was due to be released in USA and they saw there was something that looked slightly like a compass. They said "Dude, there's a compass on the cover of the book, this can't be named Northern Lights. Americans are stupid and will get confused if they see a name that doesn't include the word compass." Note: Not saying Americans are stupid, saying editors and publishers are, or think others are.

Superbad is my biggest letdown, it offered what seemed like hours of of boring worn out jokes, the only good thing I can say about it was that the story was just compelling enough to make me suffer to the end. I think the name was a bit too fitting...

Me and my buddy were pretty pissed after that movie, we kept ragging on it making fun of how awful it was but his gf got angry because she liked it.

Chicken Run was the first movie I ever walked out of.

Michael Clayton
i had so high hopes for this movie, and the setup (of jumping right into the middle, then show what went beforehand, then wrap everything up and finish the story) was quite interesting and well done, but somehow it just... didn't work. i'm more disappointed about that than the film being bad (because it isn't).
so maybe i'm not even diappointed by the movie but me and i didn't answer the topic at all. or i'm digressing again xD

Ironman 2: The first Ironman was a shock surprise when it turned out to be really quite good. The sequel had the opportunity to skip the whole development of the Ironman suit thing and jump straight in with the fun and instead decided to spend most of the time doing some sort of Tony Stark finding out about how his dad who had no issue setting up one of the worlds biggest developers of modern weaponry, was in fact some touchy feely hippy wanna be who actually really just wanted to care for mankind, oh and it spent more time trying to set up the Avengers when it should have just been about Ironman.

Finally the awkward dialogue scenes that occurred between Pepper and Tony in the first movie, which turned out to be quiet good, just ended up being overplayed and annoying in the second.

Ooh, good call. And on a similar note, The Dark is Rising. It still hurts - one of the greatest children's books, which could easily have been a Potter killer, totally wasted.

I think it's not quite that way. I think the Golden Compass name came as a back-formation from the pattern of the two sequels, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass - they wanted to make the trilogy feel more coherent. Not a bad idea, really, and it is a kind of compass, just one that points to ideas rather than places.

I was far more annoyed by the renaming of 'Philosopher's Stone' to 'Sorceror's Stone'. Philosopher's Stone actually means something, dammit!

OT:Battle LA soundtrack better use a song from the album Battle of Los Angeles, or I will really be disappointed.
That's the first thing I thought of when I heard of this film. Testify or calm like a bomb perhaps.
