Unexpectedly disappointing films

Whip It I wanted to like that movie but i just couldn't it was awful.. all of the jokes seemed pathetic and forced

I loved the Eragon movie when i first saw it.

Then i read the books.

Now it pains me thinking about how badly the story is screwed up in the movie...

The Golden Compass still sticks out in my mind for shear volume of wasted potential.

This as well, I can't believe they renamed it :S ITS NOT A COMPASS ITS AN ALETHIOMETER AND I DON'T CARE IF IT LOOKS LIKE ONE

EDIT:This isn't the only gripe I had about it but the rest is standard affair stuff when you convert a book to a film -.-

THey renamed it? I read the book and the title of the book is The Golden Compass... I think i'm missing something, did they stop calling it the alethiometer inside the movie and only refer to it as the Golden Compass?

its called Northern Lights, in the UK at least, don't know about anywhere else
