Unexpectedly Good Games

The only unexpectedly good game I have played is Mischief Makers. The picture on the front of the box made it looked like it was gonna be something really silly and lame, but to my surprise it was a lot of fun and there is lots to do in it. Hidden Diamond with something different to offer.

Before I played it, Phoenix Wright. The idea of a game where you were a lawyer seemed absurd. Of course, I was proven wrong in the most epic way possible and am very grateful for it.

Uncharted 1, my friend gave it to me as a gift. I just got a PS3 and I knew the titles I wanted and I had never even heard of Uncharted before. I thought it was going to be a boring repetetive shooting game...boy was I wrong.

I'm with you. I don't like Final Fantasy and I loathe most things Disney, but I loved Kingdom Hearts.

Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure, I thought it was surefire POS(because Marc Echo was behind it, and it was about graffeti) that just happened to have a badass soundtrack. DAY UM was I ever wrong, I got multiple playthroughs under my belt, found everything thier is to find, did everything thier is to do, and ultimately came away from the game with a newfound respect for Graf and the artists and the culture.

The power stone series on dreamcast. I thought capcom was pulling my leg with mash-up four player fighting but looking back at that shit now, I'd wager SSBB wouldn't be as good as it is now if it wasn't for the power stone setting the stage.

Technically, Super Smash Bros appeared before Power Stone was even released to Arcades, let alone Dreamcast, so it's really Super Smash Bros Brawl's Ancestors that paved the way for Powestone to Exist.

The first time I played a video game featuring a small pink ... thing, I thought "I must be out of my MIND to even pick up this thing", but I've found myself enjoying the Kirby Series.

Also, I thought Kingdom Hearts was going to be horrible (any game with the Little Mermaid or other such characters instantl raises a warning flag). Boy was I wrong.

Also, Left 4 Dead. Hear me out. I FUCKING HATED IT.... before I got to play on XBOX Live. Now, it's probably amoung the greatest games I have ever played. Anyone else think the Hunter should have a Cookie Monster sound hack?

I'm going to go back to the PS1 days and say Toy Story 2 game. I mean, no one really expects these to be good but I loved that game! Ok, maybe it's because I was younger then but still awesome.

More recently I'm going to go with Batman: AA. Thought it would suck but quite enjoyed the demo and so I bought the game.

Thought it was just a standard RPG, after the 1st hour all the really wierd lovecraftian horrors started appearing and the game became awesome.
