I know someone in Oxford called Hepsibar

We call her Eppy XD
Eppy sounds like a nice name. Hepsibar sounds pretty odd though, but not too bad. You're looking at a guy whose real full name is Trivun Luzaic, here. And I'm English. WTF?

On another note, my old Physics teacher was called Johnny Rockett. There was a sign in his room saying "It's not Rockett Science", and in my final lesson with him I pulled a prank whereby I hijacked his laptop and played Elton John's 'Rocket Man' at full blast in the middle of the lesson. Fortunately he's the kind of guy to see the funny side, he once played Steps' version of 'Chain Reaction' when teaching us about nuclear reactions...

Yeah your name is quite weird. It's really cool though! How do you pronounce it? In my head I always say 'Try-vun' but I dunno if that's right

Wasn't there a person in the US government named Dick Army?

I know Family Guy did a joke about him, and I'm pretty sure that was in fact his real name

In New Hampshire a few years ago (and for many elections), there was a guy named Dick Swett running for either governor or senator.

I forget which, namely because I don't live in that state.

Awful AWFUL name to have to live with, imo.

Heh, Jon Etheridge asked me the exact same thing the other day. It's Tri-vun, like 'tri' as in 'triple' or 'trick', and 'vun' is obvious. Most people I know just call me Triv or Trev for short though, since it's easier to say and remember, I guess.

...4. Dr. Cockburn...
That's not really an unfortunate name. The spelling's bad but the pronunciation isn't.
I think the misfortune is that he works in Urology, dealing with things such as urethra infections. Many of these cases have symptoms such as a burning sensation when you urinate.

So being called Dr. Cockburn when most of your client feel like they have a burning... eh..

You can piece the rest together :p

my cousin (who married into the name) is Amanda Dick. Though in truth there are very few names that don't sound silly in front of 'dick'

I know a Chris P Bacon!

OT:I was in the same class as a kid called Sam Ball, which is bad enough, but also the computers at my school, your username was your last name, then the first letter of your first name.I think you can tell where this is going...
That also happened to Simon Butt.

My mum used to work in payroll for M&S, and she came across loads of people with unfortunate names, like Nelly Smelly and Ronald McDonald, but also apparently they came across so many Richard, Rachel and Robert Soles and such that they had a different system for them.(So she claims)

EDIT: Also in my school, there was a Mr Tiplady, Mr Bulldock (Think about it) and Miss Humpage. I was never taught by the second two so I'm not sure how to spell their names.

My Grandpa used to tell me about the man who was the local leader of the Flat-Earth Society in his small town, whose name was R. Supwoods. Say that out loud to yourself in an English or Australian accent. =P

There was also a horse-riding champion from that same town whose name was Rusty Sidebottom. Seriously, folks, if your last name is 'sidebottom', don't name your child an adjective.
