Unfortunately, I have some bad news. Total Biscuit seems to have had a cancer relapse...

He recently posted this. My heart goes out to his family and as a fan of his, I find this news very upsetting. I hope everyone will keep him in their prayers.

Ouch, inoperable cancer. Luckily he seems like he's saved his money so he'll be able to afford better treatments if any crop up within the next few years, and he'll have a better standard of living than most people with a similar condition would. He's got a lot going for him but I don't give my hopes up about stuff like this. I knew a person who received a diagnosis where they were told they'd probably live one to three more years and he died four days later.
Holy shit that's rough. Four days?! That is downright scary.

There has been phenominal work, if you can afford it (like MPDL3280A https://archive.is/rLMOT), as you guys said, heres hoping for the best.

He's one of the best critics out there that actually demands better... And I'm afraid that if he is no longer around, who will try and fill his shoes. Because a LOT of people want to shape the games industry to their tastes, and a lot of people will take money to express an opinion as their own. If the worst does happen, I implore everyone to be vigilant towards whoever tries to take the "crown".

At-least he seems to have the right attitude:

All I can do is wish the man luck going forward.

I don't watch much of TotalBiscuit, but that's still disheartening. I wish him and his family the best of luck.

Shit, that's bad. That's too young to deal with that crap.
I hope he'll be an outlier, but there were many before him who hoped to beat the odds and, alas failed...
Good luck to him!

Oh no! I haven't watched this guy in years, but it's really sad to hear he has cancer again. I hope he can get treatment for it, although MarsAtlas saying it's "inoperable" has me worried. It kind of reminds me of poor Ed Gould.

I wish him the best of luck.

I wish him the best of luck. I also hope that the trolls will back off, that's the last thing he needs right now.

I admire his optimism, though when faced with stuff like this people really are forced to find their inner strength. Kinda reminds me of Christopher Hitchens, though I sincerely hope that he is able to fight the cancer longer than Hitchens did. He's young, he hasn't treated his body as a dumping ground for alcohol and tobacco.

What the actual fuck. I can't even think of what to say right now. Like everyone else I was cautiously hoping that the worst had passed.

His experience actually encouraged me to get something checked out. It's ongoing and has been confirmed as benign but it could have been very different, especially if I hadn't booked that appointment as soon as I noticed something was wrong. And fuck me if that wasn't hard to do. With what was going around in my head for those couple of weeks beforehand I can't even begin to imagine what he must be thinking right now.

I can only hope that his quality of life remains for as long as possible or the better, albeit with a slimmer chance, alternative of a more permanent solution.

As you may have heard in some other places, the #1 PC reviewer for the games industry had a CT scan today after beating his colon cancer... Only to discover that... Well... I'm still in a bit of shock so I will let him speak for himself.

http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1snlj3r
Well, I don't know if there is really a right way to tell people this, so I guess here goes. The CT did not come back negative. The cancer in the bowel is gone, but spots have appeared in my liver. They're not operable and there's no cure. Average life expectancy is 2-3 years, though there are outliers that live much longer. I'll be back on chemo in a few weeks, with the goal of pushing it back and keeping it there for as long as possible. I fully intend to be the outlier, the average is this way because most people that get this are old and not strong anymore. Who knows what they'll come up with in the next decade? I intend to beat it for as long as possible. Gonna need some time to process all of this. I don't really feel anything right now. Thanks.
Anyway, There was one hell of an outpouring of well deserved well wishes in response, everyone from Notch to Derek Smart to this website's official Twitter all wishing him and his wife the best and hoping that he pulls through this. On the other hand, apparently /r/games have shat the bed because their mods think that he's not a big enough industry figure [https://archive.is/vRRhU] (despite them not removing a lot of previous threads including the one originally talking about his cancer diagnoses from a while ago).

Then again, this isn't a reddit bashing thread, this is about TB so please keep comments about reddit to a minimum, I just felt it was necessary to show that the news hasn't appeared in some places yet.

Anyway, Here's hoping that he recovers from this, he's pulled through shit before. Finger's crossed to see if it happens again.

Well shit, I knew he was going through some issues with cancer. i was unaware it was that bad. He's tough, I would give him a better than average chance. But this is a bastard to fight and he has been fighting it for a while now.

You writing about this guy?!?!?!?

So depressing. This guy is so much fun to listen to. I wish him well and hope he beats this thing.

2015 has been a shitty year when it comes to celebrities and people I care about just up and dying and this news just makes me want to reiterate the fact that 2015 fucking sucks.

I'm one of the people who enjoy watching TBs videos. I like his reviews, I like the Co-Optional podcast and while I don't completely agree with his preferred games from time to time I have a lot of respect for the guy. I really hope he doesn't become one of the average and I hope he continues on for as long as possible, especially for the sake of his family.

Damn. No one should have to go through this sort of thing, but especially not someone so relatively young. I wish him the best. Here's hoping a new option comes up in the next few years.

Oddly enough, I've watched more videos featuring TB's pets than his actual work (WTFs, etc). But ya, terrible news, especially since the last video of his I watched had him fairly optimistic on his current treatment outcome. Not a huge fan and he may be inflammatory at times, but I have enjoyed his work and hope he sticks around as long as possible. I've seen what cancer does, and I don't wish it on anyone. Good vibes to him and his family (and his floofy puppies and kitties).
