Just wrapping up year three out of four in my program of Civil Engineering at Dalhousie University (NS, Canada). (Exam schedule Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Monday. Just finished the third.)
University has been a workload and a half, making a mockery of any work that high school ever threw at me. Carrying six credits, all with either labs or mandatory tutorial sessions (or might as well be mandatory) puts some time crunch on, and you learn a thing or thousand. Under the pressure I've made a lot of great friends, and even with the workload we find some time to get lunch-beer at a tavern. Engibeering isn't a just a word, it's a sponsored event where the beer is $2.50 each, and it's on a buy five get one free stamp card.
We work, we have fun times, and diss pretty much every other student. The only ones we have much respect for is medicine. (Law we respect the workload and practicality of your degrees, but disqualified due to future careers as lawyers. Sorry.)
I wouldn't have traded it.
