Also, I think Portal 2 is overrated. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good game, but I think it started to drag a little in the middle, and started to feel a little bit repetitive. Portal 1 was a very tight little package, but Portal 2, in an effort to make things bigger and better for the sequel, got flabby.
I agree, but mainly because the focus of the second game became putting some puzzles around a story instead of putting a story around a cool puzzle game. Several levels were annoying in P2 because I wasn't solving any puzzle but rather trying to find a wall where I could even put a portal.

Bioware has never developed a good game, at least that I've played. The original Mass Effect was mediocre, and KOTOR has some bland combat, terrible writing and a predictable story. Actually, that kind of describes every Bioware game I've ever played.

Their writing in particular bores the crap out of me. I still remember people hailing the plot twist in KOTOR as the greatest thing ever. I'm sorry, but if you didn't see it coming within the first ten minutes of starting the game then you are either an idiot or you weren't paying attention. It was telegraphed so blatantly from the start of the game that I have to ask how it even qualifies as a plot twist by the time of the big reveal.

Don't just state an unpopular opinion, please defend and justify it. I'm beginning to agree with a lot of these views, however, you can't just say something and defend it by stating that it's just an opinion. That isn't an argument in itself. And i'm well aware that many posters here have effectively defended their views, if you are one of these individuals, ignore this comment.

I enjoyed Dragon Age 2 more than I did Origins.

Probably has something to do with playing both on a console.

For a thread about 'unpopular opnions', im seeing a lot of the same ones. Like 'pirates are thieves!', or 'I like CoD!'. These are very common opinions. (also wrong ones! hah!)

Heres one I havnt heard much: I dont like Steam that much. Its DRM done well, but still DRM and ultimately an unneeded obstruction between me and my game. If I have the choice between getting a game on steam, or for example GoG, I take the later anytime.
Steam accounts can be hacked, banned or hacked and then banned, not to mention I have not once had steam offline mode actualy work when my internet dies. Thats right, setting steam to offline only works when your online. (My account did get hacked once so dont tell me it never happens. Its a royal pain in the ass no other form of DRM offers.)
Origin is basicaly that plus a bunch of malware.

Apart from Steam and Portal, Valve hasn't done anything I like, Halflife is just another grey FPS to me.

Grodon Freeman ISN'T a character, and nether is Chell. in order to be a character, they need to emote. even the old SNES era silent heroes in JRPGs had more expressive range then them.

I've yet to play a purely PC RPG that's as good as any of the RPGs I've play on the SNES, PS1 or PS2.

The PC doesn't matter in terms of the 'big picture' of gaming, get over it.

FFX was the last good Final Fantasy.

The best games Square made, aren't Final Fantasy games

I like MGS 4

Atlus is the only company still turning out good JRPGs.

No game has yet to come close to the narrative quality of the 5 game epic that was The Legacy of Kain.

Portal 2 Isn't that great of a game, and skirts through on its excellent writing
The extended cut of Mass Effect 3 was actually a good ending to the trilogy
Skyrim is actually kind of boring
Alpha protocol is an amazing game

Unpopular? Let's see.

Final Fantasy X was last good game in the series.
Final Fantasy VIII is terrible. Hated almost everything about it.
Dragon Age: Origins is nothing exceptional. DA2 is a joke.
Mass Effect 2 is best game in the series.
Last Remnant is single worst game I bought on Steam.
Steam > all. Maybe except GOG.
Kingdom Hearts series ended after KH2. Also I loved KH and KH2.
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver is best LoK game.
Witcher 2 and Mass Effect 2 are best RPGs that came out in last years.
Skyrim while good is shallow as a puddle.
Instead of SWToR Bioware should have made proper KotOR3.
Torchlight 2 > Diablo 3.
I'm sorry but I had to bold the ones that are actually quite popular opinions. Where have you been hearing other wise, because here I've heard each of those opinions several times over with few in disagreement? Also I've italicized the games I've rarely heard an opinion on, I've heard opinions on legacy of Kain as a whole, but rarely the individual games.

Now for me,
I like a lot of jRPGs, But none of the main Final Fantasies have impressed me.
I don't like survival horror games.
I really liked Prince of Persia 08
I like sports games.
Without its game collection considered, PS2 was the worst console of its generation.
Sonic games have been good recently.

The CoD series hasn't been terrible forever, only since MW3. Also MW3 isn't a bad game simply because it's a CoD game it's bad on its own merits.

Oh, hello flamebait threads, how I missed you.

Where would I be without the usual round of: "Oh, I don't like certain mechanics, therefore a game is objectively bad!"
You know genius, there really was no trolling or flaming until you showed up. As it turns out we can have these kinds of threads, unless we have you enacting a self-fulfilling prophecy about them.

1. i absolutely hated the kotor games. i had sky high expectations and was let down at every turn

2. i loved the ending to mass effect 3

3. i enjoy long cutscenes. if theyre done well, they are like little rewards for completing a section of the game

I enjoyed mass effect 3, maybe more then mass effect 1. The only reason being I felt that mass effect 3, while average gameplay wise and not brilliant story wise, had the best character moments of the whole franchise. Also the ending doesn't bother me that much. I use the same logic as I do when I think about human mortality. It's fun while it lasted.
maybe more than mass effect 1? for me its no question. the merely okay story of mass effect 1 did not make up for how horrifyingly bad the gameplay was. i thought mass effect 3 was the best in the series. also, not only did the ending not bother me, i found it to be one of the more satisfying endings i had experienced in a game in a long time. that might be because i didnt finish it until the extended edition had been released and by then had heard about how the ending was the worst thing in existence, so i was pretty much prepared for the worst

Indigo Prophecy is the worst game ever. I'm surprised I have to say this at all. I always see people recommending it. It gets on multiple lists of 'classic games' and its just awful. I don't understand how it has good metacritic and metauser score ratings. The gameplay is terrible. The story goes from B movie to completely atrocious fan fic levels. The only reason I even finished it was some kind of sick curiosity of wanting to see just how much worse it could get with every passing hour.

- I was bored silly by The Witcher 2... and the fifth extraneous sex scene my eyes were damn near rolling out of my head.
There is literally one 'sex scene' that you don't choose and that's at the very beginning of the game. Also I'm pretty sure you can't even get 5 sex scenes in this game ever without going into the whore houses and literally requesting sex and paying them money for a terrible cutscene. So perhaps stop clicking to see titties every time if you're going to complain about it.

Thanks Eddie.
