I'm just going to say my piece and immediately board up my house.

I actually found Dragon Age 2 really enjoyable and more fun than the first. I mostly chalk this up to never playing the PC version of the original game or 2.

Excuse me while I check my food for poison as well.

*Gets on soapbox*

Mass Effect 3 is my favorite game in the series and is in my Top 5
Skyrim is better than Morrowind
KotOR is better than KotOR 2 (with mods)
Dragon Age 2 is an okay game (6 or 7 out of 10)
Halo 3: ODST was the high point in the series
The Lord of the Rings were the most boring books I have ever read (and I have read Atlas Shrugged)
Atlas Shrugged was shit[footnote]Popularity disputed[/footnote]
Weed smells like shit
Sushi tastes like shit
Beer tastes like piss

...and...

I liked Fable 3.

Yeah, come at me bro.

Dragon Dogma's combat is pretty awesome
Gods almighty, I have found another who appreciates Gut's Dogma! Can I get a Hallelujah?!

-Fallout NV can beat up your Fallout 3 Liam Neeson dad any day of the week!
-Persona 1 and 2 deserve to be forgotten because let's face it, gameplay was atrocious (story... amazing though).
-Godzilla 2014 was a good Godzilla movie. Shoot me.
-Dark Souls 2 is nothing under the shadow of Dark Souls 1.
-DARK SOULS 1 IS NOTHING UNDER THE SHADOW OF DEMONS SOULS.
-Mega Man X is single handedly better than every 8-bit Mega Man.
-Super Mario Sunshine is the best 3D Mario title.
-Sonic Generations and Colors did nothing to help the franchise. It's still dumb.
-I like Nathan Drake's character.
-Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is the purest long running series in quality and community.
-I think the Gamecube was a better console than the PS2. (quality over quantity baby)
-I would rather see Ninja Theory crash and burn over EA.

I hope every senpai notices me after this! /^3^/

I love the original x-box's original controller. The big one. I think it was nicknamed "the spaceship." One of my friends said about it, and I qoute: "It belongs as the showpiece in the museum of technological failures."
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

That would have been in my list as well if I'd thought of it. Best-Controller-Ever! My hands are large enough to palm a basketball and that Xbox beauty felt like something that wouldn't crumble if I squeezed it too hard.

See for yourself...

I'll keep the more "saucy" and "edgy" opinions for some other time.

-Dragon Age 2 was not that bad. If it had not been a sequel, it would have been a great game.
-League of Legend's pay concept is a good for the community.
-Mass Effect 3's ending, with the extended cut, is easily an acceptable ending.
-Fallout 3 kicks New Vegas' ass.
-Oblivion is the best Elder Scrolls game.
-The Old Republic has a solid story and should be played only for that.

The Nintendo 64 was a good console and there are reasons to play it besides wrestling, racing, and Zelda.
Most DOS games are not as good as you remember them being.
Crash Bandicoot was terrible.
DOTA 2 isn't nearly as good as LoL, or as good looking.
The butt is way better than the mouth.

I'm with some of the other peoples opinion that Halo 3 was the stand out in the series, it also had the best multiplayer map I've seen (Guardian)

I don't know if this is controversial but I don't understand why people buy some games after already owning an older version of the series (Battlefield, Pokemon, Sims). They can pretty much share 95% of mechanics from the older games and don't add anything to the story.

Yeah right, fuck that, I'm gonna be popular.

- The Last of Us is one of the best games of this decade.
- Resident Evil 4 is the best game in the franchise.
- The Mass Effect 3 ending sucked balls and drapes over the rest of the series like dried up diarrhea.
- Silent Hill 2 is the greatest horror game ever made.
- Half-Life 2 is unmatched as a first-person shooter.
- Dragon Age 2 is a pathetic excuse for a sequel.

Somehow I feel this will piss more people off than actual "unpopular" opinions.

People complaining about COD are worse than COD fans are.

Ocarina of Time isn't that memorable.

If Halo hadn't been on Xbox, no one would talk about it today.

JRPG's don't generally have very good stories.

Western RPG's tend to have repetitive, uninspired mechanics.

Mass Effect 3 is the best in the series.

Open World games are usually good in spite of the open world, rather than because of it.

"Complex" is not a good selling point.

Dark Souls has nothing on Nethack.

Diablo 3 is pretty wicked, provided you avoid the forums.

Console gaming actually works out cheaper than PC gaming since you can buy used games.

All the best scifi and fantasy was written before you were born.

The third doctor was the best doctor, and Ian+Barbara were the best companions.

ET was not the worst Atari game (by far, at least ET starts up and works)

The Sims might be the most influential RPG of the past few generations.

Video games can be art but I'm not sure I've seen one that is.

Final Fantasy 7 is significant because it was the first big RPG a lot of people played.

edit for a few non-nerd ones: Americans can make perfectly fine beer, you just have to go find it. Butt sex is over rated but oral sex isn't. Anyone telling you they are best at something aren't. Social media have been a net negative effect on the internet and talking about "the economy" is how dumb people pretend to be smart.

Fine, I'll bite:

I like the COD series and believe that it is not a game that only "Bros" or preteens play. Also, it has been steadily changing over the years and was never about shooting people of a different ethnicity than your player character. Neither was it a "America saves the day" game, as in the Modern Warfare trilogy, the squad that you play as throughout all three games were BRITISH, not AMERICAN. And they save day while the American forces are just defending against and repealing a foreign enemy. If you actually played the games then you would fucking know this!

By the way, if you make a sweeping generalization of a game or series without even trying to dig for information on it or basing it off of previous titles in the series, then you shouldn't be allowed to have a conversation on it.

There are lots of problems in the gaming community and sweeping them under the rug won't fix anything.

Yup. I really think the hack and slash is what suits this genre, especially that with the giant bosses, there's the added element of just grabbing on and stabbing the heck out of the darn thing. The contextual placing was awesome too, you could grab anywhere and anything on the monster.
