Depends on which definition one is using for "Liberal" on this one. If it's the European one, then yes this is fairly true. If it's the New World Commonwealth one (Canada, Australia, New Zealand) less so. If it's the American one, not really.

OT: some more for me would be pretty much any Blizzard game. I just don't enjoy them.

Guardians of the Galaxy is the worst version of The Avengers in the MCU, and that's largely because the main character is a massive bellend.

My biggest "unpopular opinion" would be that the Pokemon gen 5 games (Black and White/Black 2/White 2) are easily the best in the series. Best story, best characters, a good region, great new features, and excellent music. The gen 5 Pokemon themselves are terribly underrated in general.

On the topic of Pokemon, X and Y are such a huge step down from previous Pokemon games. The only reason it got so much hype around it was because of 3D graphics and pandering to the "genwunner" crowd. The visuals are excellent, and many of the new features are great, but the game itself was so bland to me. I've played through it three times now, and I only enjoyed it on my first playthrough because it was felt fresh at first.

Judging by so many responses on this thread, it may not be super unpopular to say that the Star Wars prequels weren't bad. I like the original trilogy more, but not by a huge margin.

Even though I haven't played a new Call of Duty since Black Ops 2, there series overall does not deserve the hate it got at its prime, and the overall dislike it continues to get. Compared to Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty handles yearly releases much better in my opinion.

Heavily customizable characters are killing the potential to make new gaming icons. Maybe the huge icons of the past cannot be made today, but that does not mean developers should not try anyway.

I preferred school uniforms back when I went to Catholic elementary and high school. I don't really miss it now too much, but back then people thought I was crazy for liking uniforms. I guess I figured it was always nice not having to worry about looking "cool" when everyone else had to wear the same thing.

I thought Devil May Cry 2 was a good game.

Not as good as 1, 3 (my favorite), or 4, of course, but still a good game on its own merits.

I think Batman Begins is the best of the 3 Batman movies, followed by Dark Knight and then Rises.

I think "Winter Soldier" is the best out of all the Marvel Movies that have been released, and the Winter Soldier himself (despite having a grand total of about 5 lines) is a better villain and more intimidating than Loki, Ultron, Iron Monger, and Malekith put together.

"Amazing Spider-Man", despite its flaws, was light years better than "Spider-Man 3" (actually I think most people who aren't named Moviebob have this opinion, so maybe it's not unpopular).

Some breeds of dogs should be banned from reproducing, not because they are dangerous, but because we've messed them up so badly that the breed needs to essentially be 'reset' (French and English Bulldogs, Pugs, etc.). Also Chihuahuas, but that's just because I hate them.

Not all cultures are equal (and yes I know that "equal" is arbitrary).

The only game I ever liked (and I've been gaming since I was six) that is one of Nintendo's iconic IP games is...Mario Teaches Typing.

World hunger, amongst other problems, is the result of overpopulation, and the solution is to decrease the population - feeding them without doing something to stop population growth is just postponing the problem.

Religion is not the source of the worlds big problems (it's more of a tool for the elite to rally the masses).

I believe anyone who thinks of themselves as a category (American patriot, muslim, feminist, Xbox fanboy, et cetera) beyond reasonable levels is suffering from insecurity issues.

I don't like Naughty Dog games.

Garrus Vakarian is one of my least favourite Mass Effect characters. And I don't like FemShep's voice either.

He took my loot based shoot-'em up and filled it with the same type of self absorbed inanity that I hate on the internet. The Borderlands universe just became a stage for "What's Handsome Jack going to do next?!".

- On the same token, fuck people's general attitudes now.

The "If you don't agree with me, you're stupid and wrong" mindset that everyone seems to have now isn't brilliant, it isn't revolutionary, you're not a trailblazer since you're absolutely following a well-worn trail that almost 80% of the net population follows now.

People can have different opinions, and you can address them. That's great. That's discourse. But to de-evolve into insults and rage doesn't fix anything. It doesn't open minds. It creates divides and we get no where in a conversation. It takes no effort to stay as a moody 12 year old kid who only knows curses and dismissal as ways of 'communicating'. It takes stronger people to be ready to be proven wrong or find new ways of thinking.
Whoooaaaa shots fired. More Handsome Jack for me, then~

Also I find it interesting that you say "people can have different opinions" then turn around and say "to devolve into insults... doesn't fix anything" as you say "fuck this and fuck that". That just piqued my interest, is all xD

Star Wars has aged poorly, and the thing that really props it up is its excellent cast. It has a terrible story, and 8 year olds can come up with more consistent, convincing, and deep lore.
I think the acting is awful on top of all that. Harrison Ford in particular.

Gamers will not partake in some kind of uprising against the poor practices of the industry. In fact, they will continue to support them while bemoaning them.
Gamers like to bemoan things above all else.

I think of AMD as a dying company, releasing stock overclocked versions of gpus and cpus just to barely compete.

I think the Halo games are subpar at best, I do like the universe of Halo, but the games themselves for the most part suck in terms of gameplay and their story. Halo 4 especially was a travesty for also redesigning the visuals of the characters/weapons/enemies etc for no reason.

I own and really like my Pebble smartwatch, despite most people seeming to think the idea of a smartwatch is pretty stupid.

I enjoy the Resident Evil movies as good popcorn flicks.

I thought The Dark Knight Rises was an absolutely awful film. Bane in particular was utter shit. His voice made him sound hilarious and he was nothing at all like Bane. On a similar note, I didn't think Batman & Robin was that bad of a film.

Walking Dead is a horrifically overhyped piece of shit. I don't get how anybody stuck with it after the truly awful season 2.

The Hobbit 3 was an utterly shitty and a mess of a movie, I didn't like a single thing about it. It was an awful conclusion to the trilogy.

Prometheus is single handedly the worst movie I have ever seen. I hear so many people say how much they like it and how deep and meaningful it is. I just don't get how. It's not a good Alien movie as it isn't faithful to it or make sense as a prequel to it, the plot is paper thin (even the set up of how they found the planet), the characters are all unlikeable idiots who make stupid decisions a child would not do, and yet these are meant to the scientists. Plot macguffins are all used to cover up it's story failing constantly. The pacing was a mess, the story was a mess.. Everything was a mess. Watching it literally makes me angry at how stupid a film it is.

On a similar note, Ridley Scott is a crap director who got lucky with the first Alien movie. Bar that, and maybe Gladiator, all his other films have been crap (yes, that includes Blade Runner, which had a stupid plot, alongside Deckard and his romance plot making no sense at all).

I have to agree, and I think the problem stems from the first game actually being a great game for its time in terms of gameplay, but then they stopped changing things up and kept it more or less the same from that point.

Hum, interesting, there was a guy in my public speaking class who had his persuasive speech be telling us about why a smartwatch is useful and convenient. Actually made me consider buying one, though I had no money for it at the time and by the time I did I'd forgotten about it.

I don't think this is an unpopular opinion. I've seen most of the reaction to the movie be negative because of its nonsensical plot and the whole people being morons being what makes the whole thing happen.

OT: Yet another one for me (third time posting on this thread, how many more until a free coffee?) is less unpopular opinion for society and more for here and other areas of social media and the internet I frequent. I like the Big Bang Theory.

We all have our lists, and I'm sure many of us aren't listing all of them.
Still, I'd like to share mine. They are all in random order, which is funny since I love organization.

- I think The Last of Us was a mistake for Naughty Dog. (And a terrible story for that matter.)
- My favourite Star Wars movie is episode 3. (Though this one doesn't seem that unpopular)
- I extremely hate harem anime.
- I prefer smaller boobs.
- Science will solve most things, but not everything. (This one can change depending on the future)
- I don't care about some social issues in the world. (And I'm pretty sure if I said this in public today I would be strapped to a stake and burnt alive. Thanks Australia.)
- Australia isn't as good or bad as it seems.
- Bioshock Infinite was a terrible game.
- I don't like any MMOBAs.

That got a lot off my chest.
Compared to other lists, well, mine doesn't seem that grand. Heck, I'm sure I could think up of more, but sometimes we just don't bother.

I think the first two generations, since gen 1 does have a small card you can printout if you catch all 151, and gen 2 had the ability to have all gen 1 pokemon transferred to it. I think it's at gen 3 where it stopped being possible.

-I never hated Jar-Jar Binks.... Buuut I can see why a lot of people do.
-World of Warcraft is overrated.

That's all off the top of my head at the moment...

Religion is not the source of all, most, or even a significant minority of the world's problems, and pretending that it is will not help change anything. On that note, the most irritating and harmful fanatics are the "fundamentalist" atheists, not the theists.

"The Last of Us" is a game with great mechanics but an awful story, and Joel is probably the evil, reprehensible protagonist of any game I've ever played. That ending was a damn war crime, and no one is going to convince me otherwise.

The people that live in our current age are not any smarter than those that lived a thousand years, and they are definitely not better people from a moral standpoint. Human nature has never changed and never will change, not for better and not for worse.

When people like to think themselves clever and superior by watching trashy reality TV shows like "Jersey Shore" so they can mock the actors they think are less intelligent than them, I feel the urge to remind them that those "stupid" people are making millions off of the desperate attempts of "brilliant" viewers to find anyone that qualifies as inferior to them, due to them being utterly average people that no one cares about. So who is the actual "stupid" one?

Moral relativism is a plague on humankind, one that needs to be stamped out as soon as possible.

The fact that people in our times are willing to place animal lives above human ones is extremely and deeply disturbing. I own and love two dogs, but I would kill both of them and a thousand other dogs like them with my bare hands if I thought it would save a single human life, and not being willing to do that is monstrous in my eyes.

On that note, human beings are completely and utterly above all other life on Earth. Extending animal rights is a courtesy and a kindness, but the rights of animals end as soon as our convenience begins. Mankind's destiny is to rule this planet and expand out to colonize and control all others as well, so suspending our drive forward due to petty concerns is pointless. Pretending that animals are somehow equal to us when this is clearly not the case only saps us of our will to act decisively to achieve that destiny, and should be actively discourage whenever possible.

A global government power that is superior in authority to all other nations and can direct the entirety of the human race is not only inevitable but necessary.

"Sexual Liberation" is unhealthy, and so is the fixation that people constantly place on base biological urges instead of reason or self-control.

Psychological therapy is a pseudoscience.

I have a personal prohibition against watching any kind of anime or reading any kind of manga.

Developing advanced, eventually sentient AI or pursuing some kind of transhumanism is an incredibly stupid idea that can only end badly.

We need a more conformist society. Telling people that they are special is not only dishonest but immoral, especially when they are children.

Independent political parties in the US (meaning any that aren't Democrat or Republican) are a waste of time and an infantile fragmentation of our political system that will do nothing but promote the views of screaming radical malcontents. A two-party system is far superior for long-term stability.

Nope, you needed to trade to get every pokemon in gen 1. Both in that some pokemon were exclusive to a version (bellsprout and oddish for example) and there were 4 pokemon (Alakazam, Machamp, Gengar, and Golem) that were evolved by trading.

I don't remember which game was the first to not have the original 150/1
