Ok I couldn't watch the whole thing, it was too corny and the animation was was last, last gen. Also it was yet another JRPG. If you guys have to make fun of those kinds of games at least make fun of current ones not ones that were on the Gamecube or PS1
Crappiness is timeless. Also, why do you care?

Something I was wondering about that Graham and Paul never addressed, why are his pajamas backwards?

Something is very familiar about that cutscene, they must have hired someone who worked at 4kids to make it.
You mean the bad sound effects? Or the quality of the voice acting?

Great Episode, but I really loved the first joke:
"Hey Kettle! You're black!"
"So are you!"

EDIT:

As someone else mentioned: Unskippable isn't a review show or segment. It's a just a mockery of bad cutscenes. And, oh shock of shocks, many JRPGs have terrible cutscenes, hence the many JRPGs used. And how cares about the graphics? You're watching it. You aren't playing it (Even though I would say graphics don't make a game).
And it was obviously in engine, not a pre-rendered cutscene.
Ok, fine. If you guys have to make funny videos about those games, at least make fun of current ones.
Someone else probably picked up on this, but it's becoming a trend now that while Games are slowly becoming itneractive movies it's become neceassary for cut scenes to be more competetantly portrayed (admittedly some still fail horribly at it but mostly they're the games no one buys or gives a damn about).

So making fun of older games from the days when "cinematic gaming" was still a new concept is much easier and heralds much finer results.

Not saying I disagree with your previous statement that they should try and focus on recent games, but if they wanna do older games, then that's perfectly fine to, They're the oens who do it for a LIVING, When you start getting paid to mock video games, then maybe your opinion (as well as mine) might mean squat (although in fairness just because you get paid to do it, doesn't mean you're an authority on it.)

Aaaaaanyway!

Great video this week, even if I had no idea what game it was...
Was a bit weird that she would insist on refering to THEIR father are his and his alone...

I sense a "Your sister is really your mother... somehow." plot twist...

Or at the very least "You're adopted."

Enjoyed the Grandia III reference.

If this game was actually a parody of the teens saving the world RPG genre the background music would be a perfect fit.

Hilarious episode. The cutscenes gave you a lot to work with, huh? Not that you needed it, but they were funny.

I played this game thinking it would live up to Star Ocean: Till the End of Time (made by the same company), but seriously, the animation and cutscenes suck. They should mock the endings too, because they were terrible. As for the JRPG craze these guys are on, I'm enjoying it, since X-Play and the rest of the world seem to go ape*** for WoW, Fallout 3, Gears, etc, so seeing JRPGs, even being mocked, is a nice change of pace. It's also thanks to these guys that I got to see how totally horrible some of the voice acting in the Last Hope is.

Re: Games and Their Current-ness

We choose games based on how funny we can make them. Simple as that. We just did Resident Evil 5, Star Ocean 4 and X-Blades, all released in the last 6 months for 360. This happens to be an older PS2 title.

Basically, we mix it up, and we use games that work. We don't want to do a certain game merely because it's current and end up with a bad video.

Also, I point out again: We've done 16 episodes, with a mere 5 JRPGs among them.
Y'all be hatin' the JRPGs, dawgs.

So many Metroid jokes! Love it. Yes, the JRPGs tend to have the strangest cutscenes and conversations due to culture-gap and translation bugs, so they're good candidates for mocking commentary. I actually want to play a lot of these games now (Grandia III most notably)

Thank God they established the brother sister thing early, not like Grandia 3. In the words of Roamin the great crime solving Rank 11 Palain "All those jokes I made about your mother seem a whole lot less funny now."

Me too, as soon as I heard it, I thought "Oh man, it's gonna be good this week." I love when they play on old adages like the pot calling the kettle black.

Also loved the Grandia reference.

...wait, X-blades was released in the last 6 months? Damn, I thought they'd become stricter about quality control recently.

The voice acting and the inappropriate music, better than the usual hip hop, but it still hearts my ears.
