Well of course games by Bioware are similar to each other, they're all essentially the same games in every way except the plot. I'm trying to compare Bioware games to games that are made by other RPG studios and/or are more widely recognized.Epitome said:The main comparison to draw for the BG games would be neverwinter nights BG" pre-ceeded it and is set in the same gameworld, as you can even import BG2 chars into nwn and icewind dale is another in the franchise when black isle were around.Aqua Trenoble said:Well BG2 seems more similar to Bethesda games and Fallout than any other games not made by Bioware. I haven't played F1 or F2 but I've seen screenshots and heard descriptions and all of them seem to be related in my mind. The gameplay, settings, basic interface, stats, etc. are somewhat analogous. Plus all of the mods for these games on PC seem to do approximately the same things or are fairly alike.Epitome said:Agreed that BG2 is a masterpiece but i see no more resemblence to oblivion or fallout than to any other title? save it has fallout twos 2d isometric view, cept implemented way better and its moral choice system works and has a very important outcome on the game right from the start?Aqua Trenoble said:Dunno how popular this game is, but it is probably my favorite game of all time: Baldur's Gate 2. If you want a slightly silly, unique RPG/RTS game then Baldur's Gate is probably your best choice.
Maybe it's just me, I dunno.
no icewind was 3 month sbefore BG2, i meant that BG2 was between Icewind and NWN as a comparison. I suppose comparing the game to the same stuff from teh company wasnt the best but i still dont reckon it mirrors bethesda? char gen is well established and combat in BG" is d+d based?Aqua Trenoble said:Well of course games by Bioware are similar to each other, they're all essentially the same games in every way except the plot. BG was made before Icewind? Why are the graphics and such better in BG then?
Yeah, it was. And there was a lot of things that the game was like, "Accept it, dammit. It's because we said so."Hail Fire 998 said:Dragoon was a little hard to understand, wasn't it?Nemorov said:That was a good one. MediEvil is to this day one of my favorite games of all time, along with Alice, Psychonauts and Myst, all of which got more press I think.

I was a fan of Ultimate Ninja considering, to me, it was of the only games I would sit down and play on my PS2 for.Merteg said:The Naruto games for the X-Box and Dark Messiah.

I know it, I played it as well, but I found it less apealing than Dn3DCrazzee said:Shadow Warrior. Wildly fun and silly FPS, based off of Duke Nukem 3D. Barely anyone has heard of it, though. It's great.
True! Totally loved that game. My mother bought it for herself for the SNES when she still played on it, but she could never get past the first boss ~_~ I couldHikarikage said:I would have to say The Illusion of Gaia back from the SNES days. One of the best RPGs I've played and yet I can never find anyone whose heard of it.
I only played the second Lufia (First was never released in Europe). I totally digged it as a child, as it was completly translated into Dutch (my first language) so I didn't miss anything.AbuFace said:Lufia 1 and 2 for the SNES. If you like JRPGs and/or SNES RPGs, then go play these.
Just be aware that while Lufia 1 was released in 1994 and Lufia 2 in 1996, L2 is actually a prequel to L1. You may want to think about playing L2 first, as the opening segment of L1 will spoil the ending of L2.
